M. • Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ffeiffer with the following Members and Officials present: Commiss ~oners~'L~rate, Jr., And Jas. E. Stewart, City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. .Motion by Stewart, and second by Crate that the following bills in the aggregate amount of X1,228.85 be paid: ti'Ym. H. Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to eliminate the various funds at the Bank Depository, and to transfer sAme into the General Fund Interest and Sinking Fund, and Tax Fund as of June 2, 197. Carried. Motion by Crate, second by Stewart to authorize the City Clerk to issue a warrant for $100.00 to the La Porte Volunteer Fire Department to de- fray the expenses of their delegate to the State Convention to he held at Amarillo, Texas June 9, 10, and llth. Carr ied• Motion by Crate, Second by Stewart to pay Fire Chief C. 3. Wilson's ex• penses, and loss of time from his work to attend school on fighting Oil ~~ fires, given by the Pan-American Oil Refinery at Texas City, aril on the saw day pick up equipment .left with the Texas City Volunteer Fire Department at the time of their disaster. Carried. Motia~n by Cra~.e, Leo ,}~ Stewart to purchase 1000 feet, 2 1/2 inohes Multex Multiple wov~a X1.50 per foot or a total of X1500 with pption to pay within b0 days of delivery at a 2f discount or within one year of delivery the principal with interst at 6f per ann~• Carried. Motion by Stewart, second by Crate to appoint Richard Osborne-Judge of the Corporation court at a salary of X50.00 per month, same being payable in semi-monthly installments _on the first and fifteenth day of each oalendax month. Carried. Mr. Miltcei Beok, and several other plumbers of La Porte met with the cc®miss ion and discussed a new plumbing ordiance. phis matter was- rem -° ferred to the City Attorney.
