Speci~el meeting of the City Commiesia~n was called to order by liayor Pfeiffer with the following members and city offi- cials present: Commissioners Jae. S. Crate, Jr. and Jae. S. Stewart, Supt. of Public forks Raleigh Erwin, John T. Mc~- ~fee, r®prssenting Eyatt C. Hedria'k City Engineer, City et- torney Jno. g. Hiibler, and City Clerk J. S. Muldoon. The Commission instructed the City Clerk to contact Mr. Cravens with the State Highway Department and make a request for the Highway ~pa~rtment to place aulverta an the East side of Highway 225 at North gA ~ end '~'~~ Streets. Miss Birdie Burbank requested the-City Clerk to refund X57.74 which she deposited ~1ith the City September 13,1946, for water line extension to h•r property on North Broadway. The C=ity Commission instructed the City Clark t© refund Birdie Burbank X57.74, the amount of her deposit, as the ai ty cannot procure the pipe at this time. Motion by Crate, second by Ste7eart to accept Bdnd Report and place on file. Carried. Th® Gity Clerk presented the Mayor±s proposed budget for the f i easel year July 1, 194? to June 30, 1948, which was filed in the alerk!s office November 12, 1947, and after ssonaideration end discussion , motion by Crate, second by Stewart that this proposed budget be approved and that a publi© hearing be h®ld December 1, 1947, at the City Hall at La Porte, Texas at 8:00 P. ~. , and that proper notice of such hearing he published in the Ice Porte Reporter. Carried. Motion by Crat®, second by Stewart to authorize the City Clerk to purah~ a and hags printed 5000 poste'ards for the water department. Cirri®d.
