Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H.
J. Pfeiffer, with the following members axxl city offic isle present s
Commissianer Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public ~orlos Raleigh Erwin, John
T. Mc Afee and Wm. Hennes, representing S~ratt C. Hedrick, City engineer,
Jno. S. Eiibler, City. Attorney, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk.
Motion by Stewart, second by Pfeiffer, to pay John Champagne X65.00
for nightwatching while H. Morten was on his vacation.
Carried.
Motion by Stewart, second by Pfeiffer, to ratify payment of check No.
1l~02, dated August 7l.~., 1~.8, for X1,800.00, to 'Lee Brothers for shell.
Carried.
Motion by Stewart, second by Pfeiffer, instructing the City Attorney
to draw up s lease between the City of La Porte and the B~yshore Radio
Club for a radio emergency station at La Porte Municipal Airport.
Carried.
Motion by Stewart, seca~nd by Pfeiffer, authorizing the City Clerk to
issue a check to Wyche and Bruce Co~istruction Co¢npany, in the amount
of #10,889.56, foz~ work performed and material om their Job No. 3406,
Contractaa~'s Estimate No. 1, same having been approved by Myatt C.
Hedrick, City Engineer.
Carried.
Motion by Stewart, second by Pfeiffer, to authorize the City Clerk to
issue a purchase order to James B. Clow and Sonss for materials as
follows

15 Fire Hydrants ~ 722.80 each

- ~REAB, the City of =La Porte has heretofore passed axed
approf~'ed Ordinance No. 261, regulating traffio upon the public
,streets of the City of La P-orta; and
~EREAS, such Ordinanoe proPides that the Board of Com-
missioners shall, by resolutiari, determine and designate the char-
aster of all official traffic sigas and signals and shall desig-
pate the looatian where the same shall be installed;

MISSIOAEItS OF THE CITY OF LA PCRTE, TEXAS, THAT;
The operator or driver of any truck larger than one-
half (~) ton pink-up truck shall not park such vehicle between
the hours of 9:00 A. M. and 9:00 P. M. on any day on 9~est I~a.in
Street between Broadway Street and Fourth Avenu®.
The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and instructed
to mark aucl sign, with "No Truck Parking" sigas between Broadway
Street and Fourth Avenue.
