Special meeting of the City Com¢nissicm was called to order by Mayor H. J. Pfeiffer, with the following members and city officials present: Commiss- ioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr. and Jas. E, Stewart, Supt. of I~,iblic Works Ral- eigh Erwin, John T. Mc Afee representing Wyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. Motion by Crate, second by Stewart, that John Champagne be employed as night watchman at a salary of X150.00 per month, in place of Knox A. Morton, who resigned, and that a bond in the sum of $1000.00, be furnished. Carried. Motion by Crate, second by Stewart, to purchase fromi the Eureka Fire Hose, 600 feet of 1-J' Light Leader Line, at x.89¢ per foot, terms 2~, 30 days from date of invoice. Carried. Motion by Stewart, sec and by Crate, to employ Raymond Crawley as a full- time paid fireman, to be in charge of all CityFire Department equipanent, to maintain the same, and to answer all fire Dells, at a salary of X175.00 per month, payable in semi-monthly install~entss such employe to have the use and occupancy of the garage apartment an the city property, with all utilities furnished by the city, such garage apartment and utilities are of the value of X50.00 per month.. Carried. Motion by Stewart, second by Crate, that Ordinance No. 361, being AN ORDINANCE GRANTING THE BAYSHCfftE RADIO CLUB A LEASE FQ~ A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS ON THE TOWER AND ADJACENT BUILDING ON THE LA P~tTE MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, PROVIDING THE TERMS, AGREEMENPS AND CONDITIONS, be adopted as read. Carried. Mcftion by Stewart, second by Crate, that the following Resolution be-ad- opted: RESOLUTION I+QHEREAS, an erroneous survey has heretofore been made of San Ja- canto IIomes Addition to the Town of La Porte, Texas, and TNHEftEAS, in accordance with such survey, the Mc Millen Caaastruction 188 • Company, owner of certain lots in said subdivision, has constructed a num- ber of dwellings, and WHEREAS, the City of La Porte, in acoordance with such survey, has installed certain utility lines, and TIf~EREAS, said subdivision has been re-surveyed by the County Sur- veyor of Harris County, Texas, A. C. Stimsoaz, on AQarch 31, 1~8, which sur- vey the City of La Porte and the Mc Millen Can.struction Company agree is correot, and WHEREAS, the City of La Porte has heretofore exchanged deeds with the Ma Millar Construction Coanpany tq establish streets, alleys and buildings lines to conform to those which have heretofore bean actually established on the ground in said addition, and Y~iEREAS, Virginia M. Morrison, the owner of Lots RTo. One (1) and Two (2) in Block No. Two Hundred Forty (21.x.0) of San Jacinto Horses Addition to the T~ of La Porte, has agreed to convey the South Three Feet (3~) of Let No. Two (2) to Mc Millen Construot3on Compau~ upon delivery of a deed from the City of La Porte conveying to her Seven Fest (7t) in South D. Street and Three Feet (3t) in South 7th Avenue, adjoining said Lots No. One (1) and Two (2), and, WHEREAS, It is to the mutual benefit of the City of La Porte, the Mo Millen Construction C ompan~y and Virginia M. Morrison, t o exchange such deeds, NOVP, THEREFORE, BE Ir RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of La Porte, Texas, that the City of La Porte oonvey certain parts of South D Street and South 7th Avenue in said San Jacinto Hoanes Additia¢i to the Town of La Par~te to Virginia M. Morrison, and that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of_La Porte be, and they are hereby, instructed to execute and deliver said deed to the said Virginia M. Morrison, and it is so ordered, be adopted as read. Carried. • • J ~'~ Motion by Crate, second by Stewart, that the City Engineer be instructed to have influent screen constructed in Sewage Disposal Plant, at a cost of ~ 115.00. Carried.
