Special meeting of the City Ccmnnission was called to order by Mayor Pfeiffer, with the following members and city officials present: Cadn- missioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr. and Jas. E. Stewart, Supt. of Public Works Raleigh Erwin, John T. Mc Afee and John Vvrithers, represent ing ti'ifyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, A. H. Lambert, owner and Editor of the La Porte Reporter, City Attorney Jno. S. Kiibler, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. The Mayor requested the City Clerk to open the bids for the construction of a Sanitary Sewer Collection System, and Sewage Disposal Plant. P. Farnstivorth & Co., in connect- ion with their bids. Carried. Mot ion by Stewart, second by Crate, that the following Resolution be adopted: YJHEREAS, the City of La Porte has agreed with the Me Millen Construction Ccsnpa~r to ecgnplete the grading and shelling of certain streets to conform to F. H. A. requirements, and Y~REAS, the Mc Millen Construction Company has deposited, with the City Clerk, the sum of Six Hundred Dollars 0600.00}, the estimated cost for completing such work, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Coymu ssioners of the City of La Porte, Texas, that, as soon as practicable, the City will complete grading and putting shell eight (8) inches deep and twenty (20) feet wide on Seventh Avenue from South D Street to South E Street and on Eighth and Nineth Avenues from South C to South E Streets in acoordance with the contract with the Mo Millen Constructicn Company, and, 13~ BE IT F'[TTRTHER RESOLVED that the letter addressed to the , Mo Millar Construction Compa~r, 791.8 Harrisburg Blvd., Houston, Texas, dated March 18, 1918, by Raleigh Erin, Superintendent' of Public ~'~orks, be in all things ratified and confirmed, and it is so ordered. ` Carried. motion t'y Crate, second by Stewart, that the meeting adjourn.
