Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. J. Pfeiffer, with the following members and city officials presents Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and Jas. E. Stewart, Raleigh Ervin, Supt. of Public PTorks, ~. Maness, represe~i.ng Wyatt C. Hedriok, City Engineer, City Attorney John S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. Minutes of the last meeting wero read and approved. Mr. Ernest L. Broom, Jr., appeared before the Coaunissio~n in connection with pro- posed issue of X100,000 of bonds for street,and garbage incinerator bonds, and the issuance of additional bonds heretofore authorized against the water and sewer system revenues. Mr. Brown presented a contract in which sets out services to be performed by him in the proposed bond issue of X100,000 and for the issuance of additicaial water and sewer bonds heretofore authorized. For, and in consideration of his services, and in reimbursement of his expenses, the city agrees to pay him a Dash fee equivalent to one and one half (1,~ .) percent of the bonds issued for either of the purposes named above, this fee to be paid o~n a prorata basis, as I~ bonds are actually issued, and delivered. . `~ .Motion by Stewart, seoond~ by Crate, to employ Ernest L. Brown, Jr., under terms of contract, and authorizing the DTayor and City Clerk to sign same. Carried. The Mayor introduoed ar_ ordinance calling a bond election. The ordinance v-as read in full and Commissioner Crate moved that it be adopted. Tho motion was seconded by Commissioner Stewart and carried by the following vote: AYES: P.ie.yor Pfeiffer, Commissioners Crate arxi Stewart. NOES; None. The ordinance thus adopted follows: BE IT ORDAINED by the City Co~rission of the City of La Porte, Texas: Section 1: That an eleotion shall. be held in and throughout the City of La Porte, Texas, on the 16th day of April. , 19I~9, at which election the following pro- positions shall be submitted to the duly qualified resident electors of said city who own taxable property tirithin said city and who have duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action thereupon: PROPOSITION N0.
