Speoial meeting of the City Commission was palled to order by Mayor H. J.
Pfeiffer, with the following members and pity officials presesnt: CoQruniss-
ianer Wm. P. Jonas, Supt. of Rxblie Works Raleigh ErRZn, John T. Ma Afee
and. ~'im. Man.ess, representing Wyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, Carl C.
Patrick, City Attorney, end J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk.
Mr. H. B. Harrison, Mrs. Lydia Stiles, et al, appeared before the Commission
in eonneotion with moving the publio library. They also requested the City
to install a toilet ate. furnish water gratis. The Commission advised this
oommittee they would ccnsidex their requests and would advise them.
Mr. L. I,. Hardin appeared before the Coaanissi.on and requested swne relief
in constructing water and sewer mains. in Block 266, I,s. Porte.
Moticez by Jc~.es, second. by Pfeiffer, authorizing the City Clerk to isswe a
cheok to George Consolidated Construction Company in the amrnmt of ~6,231.?5s
on sewer fob No. 3I~06, Rev. Estimate No. 1., and approved by Wyatt C. Hed-
riolc, City Engineer.
Carried.
Motion by Jomes, second by Pfeiffer, to award Ed Niles the acmtract for
construction of water mains, and setting of fire hydrants, same being for
labor aa:ly, on his bid opened May 3,.191.9. The bid was as follows:

The Commission instructed the Gib Clerk to writs Mc Wane Cast Iron Pipe
Ccunpany to cancel purnhase order 8179, dated September ~.~., 191.8, covering
2000' of 2" pipe.
Mr. John bic Afee, representing Wyatt C. Hedrick, Arahitect~~ngineer, re-
quested the Co~nission to execute a new contract with his firm, as their
contract had expired in August, 191E8.
T~ Coamaission informed Mr. 1~c Afee they would consider the ccmtract and
advise hiin what action they would take:, at their next meeting.

NCJNf, THEREFCQtE, it is ordered that the currexxt bond sale be
held in abeyance until such notice has been given as required by said
Charter; that such sale be in all things can.f3rmed upon the required
notice being given; provided,. no further bids are received far the
._ purchase of the current bond issue, and .provided further, that no evi-
dence is received during such period of not isle that would in any manner
oatisicitube reasonable grrn~ds for t he setting aside of such sale; that
in absence of additional bids or such evidence, such sale shall in all
thugs be declared regular a~ valid.
