Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by M~~yor H. J. Pfeiffer, vrith the following members and city officials present: Commiss- ioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and Wm. P. Jones, Raleigh Ervain, Supt. of Public V'Iorks, Carl C. Patrick, City Attorney, Jas. A. Mc Cauley, Building and Plumb- ing inspector, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. ' Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. ~; E i, The City Clerk .read a letter from lllr. J. W. Hovey, in which he requested that j ~ the City have light and traffic poles moved back away from the corner of his building. The Commission instructed the City ?attorney to write the Houston Lighting &; Powrer Company, in this c onne et ion . Mrs. C. L. Trainer appeared before the Commission and requested price and terms of c onstructing a s ewer main t o her home on 6th Street . 'She was infor- med it would cost ~L~.50.00, and she could pay for it on her water bill in the sum of X9.13 per month: She stated she vrould think it over. ' 367 The Commission instructed the City Clerk to varite I1~,r. Geo. Hawley, Chief Engin- eer vrith the Fire Insurance Division ir_ connection with delay in fire credit on ~~ new fire hydrants. Lotion by Crate, second by Jones, authorizing a change order be issued to Moore and Moore, Contractors, to change from 2 PIy Corrugated Roof to a Built-Up Roof, carrying the fire walls up approximately 3 feet,for the additional sum of '50.00. ' Carried. Tho Mayor instructed the City Clerk to open bids. on raising wall of settling tank on lath Street. Th® bids were tabulated as follows; 1rVomack Construction C o. The Commission instructed the City Clerk to contact several tank manufacturing companies for their prices on a. 50,000 and 75,000 gallon Steel .Bolted ZVater Tank. ~. ~ 3~ The 14~.yor ordered bids opened on 2 - 50' lengths 3/4" x 3 Red Cover Chemical Hose. The bids were read and tabulated as follows :~ Eureka. Fire Hose Quaker Rubber Corp. Bia X63 •oo Bid 54.00 notion by Crat®, second by Jones, ~to purchase 100' of hose from Quaker ,Rubber Corporation, on their low bid. .
