Motion by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, that the following Resolution be adopted: RES ULUT IOPJ TFU; S'l~li'1'F CF T~;XA;; C OUt1TY GF HARRIS CITY OF LA PURTE X A RESOLUTION AUPHURIIIIvTG THE CITY TO JOIN IN TN~E EXECU'TIUN OF A TAX DEED IN THE EVENT 7:'HE CUMMISSIONER5 CUUR'1' OF HARRIS COUNTY, T~iA5, PASSES A RESOLUTION AUTHURILING TF3E COUNTY JUDGE 1'0 SELL CER`TAIly 1'ROrF,R'TY SITUATED IN THE CITY OF LA POR`TE AND SOLD TO `1'xE STI:TE OF TEXAS BY TFIE SHERIFF OF HARRIS CUUN'1'Y UN THE 1.~th DAY OF OCTOBER, 1949• 'riIHEREAS, on the ~th day of October, 19t~.9, Lots numbered Fifteen (15) and Sixteen (16) in Bloak raunbered Eleven Hundred P1ine (1109) of the `Town of La Porte, Harris C®unty, `Texas, 9aas s©ld to the State of 'Texas by the Sheriff of said County under a final judgment entered in Tax Suit entitled State of Texas vs. Homer E. Sharman and numbered 363,187; and, WHE$EA.S, the final judgment was entered in favor of the State of Texas, County of Harris, City of La Porte and La Porte Independent School District; aril, Vi~~:R.EAS, Frank M. Cowen, a resident of La, Porte, Harris County, 'Texas, is desir®us of purchasing said property from all of aforementioned taxing units under the pravisiens of Seetien 9 of Article 731.i.5b of Vernon's Annotated Civil Statutes of the State of `Texas, as amended, by paying to each taxing unit s.ll taxes due suoh unit against the abov a desoribed property, together with all penalties, interest, casts, and expenses of the above entitled and numbered tax suit; ~' ~ ~ ~ 4'JHEREAS, the said Frank Int. Cowen has requested the Commiss i©ners Court of Harris County, Texas, to pass a resolution auth®rizing the County Judge, as Cerun- issioner, t0 effect a private sale of aforementioned property and, thereafter, to execute and deliver to him a deed conveying all right, title and interest of the State of Texas and County of Harris in such property upon the payment of all of aforesaid taxes, penalties, interest and ousts, such deed to be executed, also, by the City ®f La Porte, and the La Porte Independent Soh©al District, and to con- tain. aprovision for the redemption, within the time allowed by law, by the record owner of aforesaid property; NOthi, THEREFORE, be it resolved that, should the above described property be sold under the authority and after the passage of such requested resolution, the City of La Porte agrees to join it the execution of said deed after the payment ®f of®rosaid taxes, interest, penalties and a ests, of rich the sum of X50.59 is due the City of La P®rte as is evidenced by the tax statement hereto attached and made a part hereof for all purposes. BE I'1' FUI'THER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas. PASSED this 22nd day of December, A. D. 19l~.9, by a v®te of 2 AYES AND 0 NOES. APi'ROVED by the Mayer and attested by the City Clerk of said City on said date. Carried. MFrtion by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, that Ordinance r~o. 382 be amended to eliminate all clean outs on ~." lines. Carried. Motion by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, authorizing the City Clerk to issue a check to Henry A. Austin, f®r X100.00, for furnishing chains of title, ownerships, etc., in connection with paving project. Carried. Motion by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, authorizing the City Clerk to issue a check to Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Company isn the amount of X150.00, same being final payment for shell as per agreement. Carried. Motion by Jemes, second by Pfeiffer, ratifying the issuance of Check No. 3162, dated December 17, lgti.9, in the amount of X100.00, to Russell Shepherd and Connnittee. Carr ied. The Niayor instructed the City Clerk to read Ordinance No. 390 in full. Upon read- ing the Ordinance in full, Caffinissioner ~'hn. P.
