Regu].~r meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. J.
Pfeiffer, with the following members anal city officials present: Commissioners
Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and iil~n. P. Jones, City attorney Carl C. Patrick, Supt. of
Public ~orlss Raleigh Ervrin, Wm. Maness, representing ~'~ratt C. Hedriok, City ~.-
gineer, and J. E. ~xldoon, City Clerk.
~' lUtayor Charles W. Peaxee of Deer Pkrk, appeared before°the Commission and. reques-
ted the City to relinquish a part of the City of La Porte's new territory which
is° adjacent to the City of Deer Park.
The Commissioners spoke in favor of relinquishing this small strip, and referred
1 the matter to their City Attorney for an opinion on whethor or not it could be
legally done.
I~tion by Crate, second by Jones, instruoting the City Clerk to pay Century Con-
struction Company, balanoe of ~715.1b on their Contractor's Estimate No. 5.
Carried.
The City Clerk presented eertificato which certified the results of the City
'``,f Election held on April 25, 1950, to the Presiding Judge, Mrs. hallie Wright,
to the Mayor and Cormnissioaiers. The Tally List was examined by the P~iayor .and
the Commissioners. The Mayor then declared the results of the election, and
announced that the following candidates had been elected to their respective
offices:
Harold J. Pfeiffor - Mayor - 157 Voters
Jas. S. Crate, Jr. - Commissioner - 15t~ Votes
ti'~illiam P. Jones - Commissioner - 159 Votes
These officers ~~rere notified to make proper bond and take the oath of office
at the next regular meeting, and to assume office.
V~horeupon mcstion by Crate, seconded by Jones, and oarriod by unanimous voto,
that the elective offices be required to furnish a Surety Bond in the amount
of X3040.00.
Carried.
&iotion by Jones, second by Crato, to terminate the employment of j. E. Bolding
as Building and Plumbing Inspector.
Carried.

Motion by Crate, second by Jones, to combine the Inspector's offices of Build-
ing, Plumbing and Electrical, and to appoint H. M. Ralston to these positions
and to make bond for X1000.00 for these positions.

Mr: Frank Baker, Pros ident of the La Porte-Bayshore, Chamber of Commerce, appeared
before the Co~m.ission isi eonneoti on with street signs.
