Regular meeting of the City Commission v~ras called to order by ie"1ayor H. J. Pfeiffer, ~:vith the following members and city officials present: Commissioners Jas. S. Crate, Jr., and bra. P. Jones, Carl C. Patrick, City Attorney, Vhn. P:San- ess, representing ViTyatt C, Hedriok, City Er~ineer, and J. E. I;uldoon, City Clerk. ~a.nutes of the last meeting were read and approved. ~dfr. Dennis Kiibler, R, L. Recd and Joe Collins, representing P~~a.ryland Casualty Company, explained in detstil the importance and need of the City of La Porte in having Public Liability and Compensation Insurance. After muoh discussion, the matter was given to Commissioner Jones for exalnir_s~tion, xr_d he is to report his findings back to the Commission for further action. A brief discussion was held on a petition signed by residents of Lomax Addition, requesting Game kind of bus service from Lomax to La Porte. The Mayor ordered the bids opened sz~.d re~.d aloud on fence around waterworks in Block I~.O, which were requested. Carried. Motion by Jones, second by Crate, to accept the contract of Ernest L, B~~, Jr., and to authorize the City Attorney to work ti~ith F,rnest L. Bra: Jr•s for compensation of 1~ of t ax bond issue of X50,400.00. Carried. 1'he Mayor introduced a Resoluticaz, 1^~ich was read in full. Commissioner Crate made a mot ion that the resolution be adopted as read. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Jones and carried by the following vote; AYES: ~'Iayor Pfeiffer, Commissioners Crate and Jones. NOES: None.
