Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. J. Pfeiffer, with the following members and city officials present: Commissioner '~i~m. F, Jones, City Attorney Carl C. Patrick, Supt. of Rablic a'dorks Raleigh Erwin, John ti`Jithers representing 'r~rystt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, and J. E. T~tuldoon, City Clerk. ft:inutes of the last meetings were read aril approved. T~otion by Jones, seoond by Pfeiffer, to donate the i'dest 75' of Lot 6, Block 33, `T'own. of La Porte, to the local Girl Scouts of America for their use, sub- ject to the approval of the City Attorney. Carried. &iotion by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, to appoint Dr. P. J. I~Sock, Gity Health Officer, for the term P~Iay 1, 1950 to April 27, 1952• Carried. `T'he Commission unanimously authorized Mx. John t'V'ithers, representing ~Fyatt C. Hedrick, City Engineer, to work up the approximate cost of curb, gutter, storm sewer and paving along East P:;a.in Street, from Five Points to South Kan- 5 a6 • Carried. The Commission instructed the City Clerk to write TvIr. Jim Douglas, District Engineer Tdo. 12, j'exas Highway DepArtmezxt, and request the commencing date of paving Highways 1~.6 and 225. 2'he City Clerk presented certificate tivhich certified the results of the City Bond Election held on the 27th day of bSay, 1950. Carried. the Co*nmission unanimously agreed to discontinue the renting out of the graders and grass mower, but to rent out the shovel loader at X310.00 per hour, with a minimum of X20.00. Carried. P.~otior. by Jones, second by Pfeiffer, to fence all property otivned by the City in B1oek 1.~0, ~ Porte, and to have same surveyed by a surveyor agreeable to both George Counts and the City. Carri®d. The Commission instructed the City Clerk to advertise for bids on a metallic building size 50' x 1001 x 12t Eave Height, bids to be opened at 10.30 A. 2.'I. June 29, 1950.
