Jones, City Attorney Carl C. Patriek~ Supt. of Public Works Raleigh Erwin, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The May®r instructed the City Clerk to open the bids on the X100,000 City of La Porte, Texas, Waterworks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds, which were advertised t® bs opened August 17, 1950. The bids were opened .and .tabulated as follows: The Columbian Secrrities Corporation of Texas-Par anc~.acerued,interdst plus cash premium X130.7$. .Average net interest rats - 2.6966596, Barcus~Kindred & Company -Par and accrued intareat plus cash premium ~11t2.25. Average net interest rate 2.733. Ballard-Haaaett Company -Par and accrued interest plus cash premium X100.00. Average Get interest rate 2.89`,6.. Dittmar & Company -Par and accrued interest plus cash premium X390.04. Ernest L. Brown, Jr., et al, Par and accrued interest plus cash premium $101.00. Aver- age net interest rate 3.09l~. Motion by Crate, saeond by Jones to aceept,bid submitted by the Columbian Securities Corporation of Texas. Carried. 0RDINA~1 C$ N0. 103 The Mayor introduced an ordinance which was read in (till. Commissioner Crate made a motion that the ordinance be adopted as read. The motiru~ was seconded by Commissioner Jones and carried by the following vote: AYES: Mayor Pfeiffer, Commissioners Crate and Jones. NOESs None. The ordinance thus adopted follows:. AN ORDNANCE AWARDING SALE OF X100,000 CITY ()F LA PORTS WATERWORISS AND SE41bR SYSTEM REVIIdUE BONDS, SERIES 1950 . BE IT ORDAINED by the City Coma43s sign of the City of La Porte, Texas: That the proposal of The Columbian Securities Corporation of Texas, San Antonio, Texas, to purchase at a price of par end accrnsd interest, plus a premium of .$130.78, the following described bonds, to-nit: ,-»" ~ • • X100,000 City of La Porte VPaterwo~ks and Sewer System Revenue Bonds, dated March 15, 1950, baaring interest at the rates of 2~, 2-3/!~ per annum, maturing as provided in the ordinance authorizing the issuance of said bonds adopted by t he City Cpmmission of the City of La Porte, Texas, on the 20th day of July, 1950, be and the sane is hereby a~ceptmd. Said bonds shall be delivered to the said The Columbian Securities C~-rparation of Texas suti3ect to the unqualified approval as to the legality by the Attorney t~eheral of Texas and municipal bond attorneys designated by the purchaser. J. Mhite, Engineer, appeared before the Commission and made an informal spplicatien to the City for his ser~i.ces. Th® Commission advised him to put his application in writing and it would be considered. The Mayor requested the Commission to confirm his appointment of the following men to the office of Special Police for use of Civilian Defeense: Morris W. Roberson, M. H. R~rse, Harrison S. Yarborough, Tom M. De~lalt, wed W. Cary, R®bert ~f. Kerber, Charles R. Maters, Andres Kilpatrick, L. E. Erwin, Ralph R. aisaler, L. R. Rigby, Qeorge H. Counts, Art L. Simpson, aeo. H. Sharp, Jr., Neal Moore, J. L. Burch, Ben Taylor; C. R. antes, lE. H. Peters, M. S. Ls~wis, Ben Browning, Jas. M. Jackson, Vladimar l~fitek, R. D. Harris, Bill Headrick, J. M. Arnett. Motion by Jones, second by Crate, to appoint these men as Special Police and to work under the supervision of the Police Chief. Carried. Motion by Crate, second by Jones, to purchase Special Police badges fb r these men, price not to exceed X1.75, and when issued each special officer is to deposit with the City-Clerk the sum of $2.C+0, same to be returned when badge is returned to the City Clerks office. Carried. The Comai.saion unanimously approved the-local Recreation Association program. The Comm:sign instructed 1!. D. Burgin, Fire Marshall, to notify Mr. Howard Brunson to remove debris from the old Port Theatre. The Ce~ami.ssion instructed the City Clerk to obtain the price of 600' of 2~" D. J.
