M otion by Con~.i.ssioner Jones, second by Commissioner Burgin that the City ofLa- Porte accept 45 additional overhead street lights of 250 candle power, in accor- dance with agreement dated January 1, 19t~5, between the City of La Porte and the HoLZSton Lighting & Paver Company, said l~5 lights to be installed over a pericc of fivz (5) years, cv:.c~ifi~I.oned upon the compaxry being agile to obtain the necessary materials and equipment, eleven (11~ of these lights to be :i_nstalled as soon as practical, and to be located ~t the following intersections: 1. 2. 3. ~. 6. 7. 8. 9. 1.0. 11. ti" es~t I~ain and Iv'orth Fifth Streets :"hest ?Rain and PTo:c'~h Seventl: Streets Jest ~[ain and North Ninth Streets Intersection of South Thi--^d and ~. The Comanissien unarimously instructed the City "ttorney to draw up an agreement r;i~reby the owners of lots in B?_ocks 129 and 136 would day the cost of a sewer line through these mantioned blocks, the City tivo~z7.d pay for the manholes. Carried. It1r. finest Bro~:~n, Jr., appeared before the Corraai.ssion in connecti.cr_ .~.tl sale of X50,000.00 Cit~y~ of La Porte, Te:~as, vratert~rorks end s~~rc~ system revenue Bonds. Upon motion by Jones, second by Burgin, instructing the City Clerk to advertise fc~^ bids on X50,000.00 City of La Porte, Texas, watervPOrks and sever system Revsnue Bonds, bids to be opened and read at the ~it~r Hall at 10:00 A. IVI., May 10th, 19>i. Carried.. ~-pi Milton-Beck and Alva Roland, Plumbing Contractors, appeared before the Commiss- ion in connection with the plumbing Inspector. The mayor requested the City Clerk to open bids for repainting Hose 7.'ruek. The bids were tabulated as follows: E. W. Purvis - We propose to furnish the labor and material foi° refinishing No. 1 F`i.re Truck. This includes Removal of old paint, prime thrmoughly, repaint finish, strip. Motion by Burgin, second by Jeales, ratifying the appoi~.tment of Walter Edward Ballard, Jr., to tine office of Special Police Officer. Carried.
