Regular meeting. of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. J. Pfeiffer,
with the following members and city officials present: Commissioners ~`1rn. ~'. Janes
and T~~S. D.I3+argin, Supt. of Public 'r"forks Raleigh Enrrin, City Attorney Carl C. Patrick,
and City Clem; J. E. ~~Tu7..doon.
I:Tinutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
I~r. George Counts, T,~Zr. Key Jobson, Tdr. I,Tanton Ellis and Idr. Larry France ap-~ eared
before.,the Commission and stated they represented the La Porte-Bayshore Recreation
Association and respectfully requested the Commission to help them with X2,000.00
needed for tl~ir bucl~;et. The Commission promised to Hive their request every con-
sideration in the nevi budget.
~~~. Earl N, Lightfoc~, 3021 Blue Bonnet, appeared before the Commission and stated
he recently purchased a new American Grader, but found he had no use for it. He
understood the City etas in the market for a grader, and would sell them this one at
a discount. The Commission were of the opinion that t,Yiis grader would not fill their
needs-, hence they were not interested.
• TTotion by Burgin, second by Jones, instructing the City' Clerk to advertise for bids
far the construction of additions to the sewage treatment plant, and to order 10 sits
of plans and specifications.
Carried.
The Commission unanimously authorized the D~ayor and City Clerk to sign Electrical
Street Lighting Agreement with the Houston Lighting and Power Company, agreement
being for v~2.50 per month per lamp, 2500 Lumen Rating Overhead bracket.
Carried.
I~~otion by Burgin, second by Jones, to approve Bond No. 90-00.830 in the amount of
x$1000 in behalf of Vance Turner, as Electrical, Plumbing and Building Inspector, in
favor of the City of La Porte, Texas.
Carried.
The Commission unanimously meted to oppose the discontinuance of Texas and New Or-
leans Railroad Company1s passenger trains Nos. 171 anal 172, between Galveston and
Houston, Texas, and for the City Clerk to notify the Honorable Olin Culberson,
Chairman of the Railroad Commmission of Texas, of their action.

A discussion was held on the water we]1 to be drilled in flock 177, La Porte.
It was decided to delete itan of X175.00 for the pump foundation.
I~~otion by Jones, second by Burgin, to award contract to Texas ;dater iYells, Inc.
for water well in Block 177, La Porte, authorizing the I~dayor and City Clerk to
sign contract subject to the City Attorney's approval, drilling to commence vrhen
City has well equipment and pump on location.
Carried.
