A discussion ti~as held on de-annexation of some of the properties in the city~s
present boundaries, Those taking past in the discussion vrere ti"fm. P, Jones, James
Ste~~rart, Jas. S, Crate, Jr., H. J. and .A. '~J. Pfeiffer, Darrell Piayes, ~'l. II. Baud,
?Lr. CaX of Bayside Terrace, and T,+~~. R. P. B7_ackard of Pine Bluff Addition.
The Commission instructed tine City Clerk to notify the folloc^ring persons and organ-
izations of a meeting to be held by the Commission July 9, 1952, at ?:30 P. I:T.
for further discussion of the city armexation problems s 1'.Tr. ~,~. H. Baugh,r.Tr. H. J.
Pfeiffer; a representative from the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Lions
Club, a representative from the Lomax area, Oakhurst, Pine Bluff, Crescent Shores,
and B~yside Terrace.
The Commission instructed the City Clerk to z~rite into the minutes, letter from
La Porte Independent School District, dated June 26, 1952, and place letter on

Reference is made to your recent verbal request for a statement of policy by
the Board of Trustees of the La Porte Independent School District on the City~s
annel~ation of territory to coincide ti~~.th the boundary of the school cLstrict.
~, motion ti"ras duly made, passed ~.nci recorded i n the minutes of the r egular
meeting of the Board on June 10, 1952, to the effect that inasmuch as the boundaries
of Independent School Districts axe protected by St~.te L~nT, the school district
has no interest in the boundary of the City of La Norte.

Texas, that a necessity exists to borrcr~^r funds in the ar.~ount af' Ten Thousand
Dollars (4?10,000.00) for general adriinistrative purposes and that such amount
is consistent ti-rith the anticipated collection of property tax far such year;

financial st~.tt~s of the City and is grilling to make such loan;

Dollars (;;10,000.00) to pay such note at maturity, and the sum of Ten Thousand
Dollars (~,~10,000.00) is hereby set aside ~,~i.th ,,~rlv.ch to pay saki note at maturity;
IJCR`l, TI~~?~'ORE, be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of La-
Porte, Texas, th~:t the City Clerk be authorized to issue the negotiable note of
the City to be designated "Tax l~.nticipation dote" for the budgE;t year 1952-53:
such note to be in the principal amount o_f Ten Thousand Dollars (~~10,000.00 ;
to 1~~r interest at the rate of Three ner cent (3~) per annum payable at matur-
ity, and to be due and payable on o-r bef ore the end of the fiscal. year; that
said note be sold b-,~ the Director of Finance to the said First Rational Bank
of La Porte, Texas, at not less than par value. ':':hen such note has been signed
by the Director of Finance and delivered to said Bank ~~rith a duly authenticated
copy of this resolution, the indebtedness thereby evidenced sh<d.l be fully
binding against the City.
