D. Bigrgin, with the following members and city officials present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby and Robert A. White, City Attorney Edward J. Cade, Supt. of Public Works~P.A. Arthur, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Motion by White, second by Rigby, instructing the City Attorney to confine the new Building Ordinance to the present fire limits. Carried. It~otion by Rigby, second by White, awarding contract to T. B. Trotter, Certified Public Accountant, for monthly and annual audit, for the ensuing two years, at X750.00 per yeas, payable X62.50 each month. Carried. The Commission unanimously instructed ~!I. A. Arthur, Superint endent of Public Works to raise manhole adjacent to Lot 12, Block Oalcgrove, Bayshore Park addition. Carried. The City Clerk r ead a letter to the Commission from H. T. James, in which he informed the Commission that he was contemplating the purchase of the water lines now owned by Mrs. Norma Sandel and Imo. Fred Martin. He wished the services that the City was giving these systems to b e continued until the deal was consummated, and had time to put down a new well and other necessary equip- ment to complete a first class water system. He also requested to know if the City would be interested in selling water through a Master Meter at 50 or 60 ' pound pressure, and if so, and providing the rates shall justify, he vo uld b e interested in the purchase of water from the City. 1~9 The City Commission instructed the City Clerk to write 1'dr. James that they - , would cons ider a contract with the following terms : The City would sell water through a Master Meter as follows : first 50, 000 gallons ~ X16.7?, and thereafter at x.30 per thousand. Mr. James would have to furnish a Master I+deter at the Cityts line, The City would furnish him with a pressure between 50 and 60 '.""~~ pounds. He would have to lay his own lines and secure necessary easements. ,,. ~:: 50 ~ ' u They suggested that he meet ;pith them on September 18, 1952, at 10:00 A. ~., for further discussion on this matter. The City Commission instructed the City Clerk to vrrite a letter to the La Porte Independent School District, and make a request regarding the folla~ng: The City has the opportunity to secure a title to Lots 18 to 28, Block 66, Bay Front Addition, by discharging all tax obligations against the property. As this would be a community project, especially for the children, they requested that ~e~ cancel all delinquent taxes ;rhich they had assessed against the above described property. ~dotion by Rigby, second. by ~'~hite, that the meeting adjoin.
