Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Iiayor I~. D. Burgin,
with the fallov+ri.ng members and city official$ present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby
arr_l Robert A.~'Phite, City Attorney Edward J.Cade, ~d J. E. Iduldoon, City Clerk.
This meeting was called for the purpose of settling Cause No. 391299, State of
Texas, Ex Rel Pars. Sue Campbell Pillot, et al, vs. The City of La Parte, et a1.
Imo. Frank L. Heard, Jr., 9ttorney, was present to represent the Humble Oil and
Refining Company and the Relators in the suit. P.~^, Ously, Attorney, Baas also
present to represent E. I, du Pont de Nemours & Company.
After much discussion, a motion was made by ~'Thite, second by Rigby, that Ordin-

Attorneys Heard and Ously tendered checks to the Commission for their
clients. The Commission accepted the checks, and they -erere handed to 'the
Tax Collector for settlement of the taxes.
r~4otion by Z'~hite, secor~l. by Rigby, directing the City Attorney to c~awr an
ordinance discontinuing the services of E. A. Knipp as Special :Lttarney in
the Cause of 391,299, as of this date.
Carried.
