LA FORTE CITY COI+~ISSION -OCTOBER 7, 1952
5:05 P. M.
Special meeting of the City Comnd.ssion was called to order by the Mayor, M. D.
Burgin, with the follea~ring members arxi city officials present: Commissioners
L.R. Rigby and Robert A. WY~ite, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon.
This meeting was called for the purpose of discussion of what action should be
taken i.n behalf of Dr. G. M. M3.ller, who has been called back to active military
se!rvic a in the near future, as well as in behalf of the dtizens of La Porte
and the surrounding area.
The City offid ale have been requested by many of the citizens to use their in-
fluence in securing for Dr. Miller a cancellation of these aa~ders.
After much discussion, the Mayor was authorized to write to Dr. B4i71er~s comm-
anding officer and explain to him the situation in La Porte, ie, the serious
shortage of doctors, the illness of Dr. Mock, City Health Offlcer~ and Ur.
Miller helping him as Assistant Health Offices in his absence, and to respect-
ful],y request Dr. Miller be defered.
There being no further business, upon motion by Rigby, second by White, the
Heating adjourned.
