Regular meeting of the City Comm~.ssion was called to or der by rrl~'or lsi. D.
Burgin, with the foLoi~ri.r~ members and city officials present: Corunissioners
L. R. Rigby a~. Robert A. Z`lhi•te, City Attorney Edgard J. Cade, Supt , of Public
~t~ks 1~'.A. Arthur, and City Clerk J.E, l~.~uldoon.

ldr, D. S, Baugh, President of the local Board of Education, and Mr. Lowell
Lammers, Architect on the ~moposed colored school to be constructed in Block
103, La Porte, appeared befar~e the Commission and offered the City X700.00
toward the constructs on of a 6" sewer main to ~"Test ~Zadison Street. This
main would run through Blocks 66, ?9, and Block 90, La Porte.
The Comr~~.ssion instructed fir. Yd. A, Arthur, Supt. of Public ?Yorks, to have
$dr. T.F. Smith make a check of these Blocks and see how many houses were in
these blocks and if 'the people ot+~ning houses in same Vrould be willing to
participate in the cost of the construction,
A discussion was held on the financing of seyrer in any section of La Porte
where sewer was needed. The Commission instructed the City Clerk to write
the City of Corpus Christi far their method of collecting, where one or
more wanted t o finance a se•~ver line to their property and then be reimbur sed
when others tied into the line.
4n ffiotion by Commissioner iYhite, duly seconded by Commissioner Rigby, and
carried by unanimous vote, it was ordered that the first Friday at 10:00
o'clock A, 1~, of each month, and the ~h~d I~iday at ~:30 o'clock P. ~'!.
of each month, shall hereafter be the r egulas meeting time of the Oi.ty
Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas.

ldotion by ti"lhite, second by Rigby, that the City Clerk have published in the
city's official nevrspaper, a notice for a Public Heaxing on the proposed gas
mates for the Houston Natural Gas Corporation, for Tuesday, at 10:00 0' cloclc

The Coma;fission unanimously authorized the removal of parking meters adja-
cent to Shell property in Block 37, La Porte.
Carried.

A discussion was held on1"salter Roberson, Police Chief, in coxir3ection tigith
his agreement to the City, ie, wl~sen he received his insurance he would
pay it ~ over to the City. It was the opinion of the Coiuni$sion that he
should keep his agreement with the Eity.
The Cos~i.ssion unanimously gave their consent to Z~r. A. Arthur, Supt. of
Public ~orls~, to open up all alleys V~rhere there z~tas a need far the alleys
to be open.
Motion by Rigby, second by ~'si~i.te, authorizing 1~.A. Arthur, Supt. of
Public ~If~ks, to purchase from A. s~. Polker and Sons ~Neldirs~ Corrg~any,
One - 200 AMP Melding Machine, corrrplete, for X237.50.
Carried.
Motion by White, second by Rigby, authorizing the ~r2ayor and City Clerk
to e~cute Form X-x.352, (3rrrsei~s Consent Contract, r+ith the Manolia
Petroleums Company on their equipr~nt at the Hou-Par•t Aviation, Inc.,
located on City of La Porte property.
Carried.
Motion by Rigby, second ~ ~'slrite, that the meeting adjourn.
