Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor r4. D. BnY- gin, with the following members and city o~'f'i.cials present: Commissioners L, R. Rigby and Robert A.White, Supt. of Pnb13~c !~ca~ks ~f. A. Arthur, City Attorney Etl,. ward J, Cade, and City Clerk J. E, Mu7.doon. Plinutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The M~rar instructed the City Clerk to open and tabulate bads for ranavir:g existing roof of the Digester Plant, and replace it with a new roof. The bids were opened and tabulated as follo~rs: MORE & MJORE BTD We propose to bid as follows on Emhoff Tank: Remove roof off Digester Plant, replace all framing and deck- ing, bolts, and roof with fir lumber, paint with two coats of wood preserved. Base Bid ~2,591.~ Alternate No. 1 If Red Wood is used, add to base bid ~ 276.00 Alt ernate No. 2 We will pour deck with light wei~ht Aggregate, not weighing rnrer lb lbs. per square foot, 2-2 thick over steel tez For the sum of X2,350.00 ft0Y SHIPP BID nF~n aentlenen: Th3.s bid is using No. 1 Fir Sheeting- SAS 8" with 2 coats of Du Pont Primer paint. Moore and Lowell Lammers submitted plans far remodel3.ng buildit~ ad- jacent to ~ esent City Hall. After much discussion, the building plans rare appro4ed, and. upon motion b9' Rigby, second by ti'~hite, instructing the City Clerk to publish 'TTOTICE TO BIDDERS~~ in the official newspaper, bids to be opened Apri].-3, 1953, at 10:00 otclock A. M, Carried. Motion Yyy Wlx3.te, second by Rigby, instructing the City Clerk to redeem the City of La Porte Sewer Funding Bonds dated May 10, 1938, being bonds ],5 to 22, inclusive, in the amount of $4,080.00, Clerk to use $2,369.00 nou on deposit, and to borro~r ~l, 711, 00 from the Aeftinding B~ of 1934, s ~e to be returned to this fund (1934 RE~ Borfds) when the City redeems tyro Defense Bonds, Ser3.es F, payable ~' l4, 1954, and belonging to the Interest and Sin~dng Fund of City oY La Porte Seger Funding Bond 1938, Carried.
