Regular meeting of the City Commission was called t,o order by Mayor M. D,Burgin, with
the f ollopring members aru]. c3.ty officials present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby aid Robert
A. ~4'Jhite, City Attorney F~rard J. Cade, City Engineer A. B. Moore, Supt, of Public
~~crls:l"I.A. ArtYns, and City Clerk J.E. 1'!~uldoon.
Iitinutes of the last meetings were read and approved.
The Mayor requested the Gity Clerk to open bids for rexnodel3ng of building adjacent to
City Hall, for La Porte city offices.
The bids were opened, aryl tabulated as follovrs:

The I~2ayar~ stated the commission wou7 d consider the bids, and let them kno~r what t

decided to do, in the next few days .
A discussion eras held vrith A. B, l,~i Dore, Fmgineer, on the City Street Plans. He ad-
vised the Commission he would deliver the plans to the City Commission April 17th,
1953.
i11r. Cade, City Attorney, advised the Commission i£ they would furnish him ti~.th certain
information, he could have a legal notice of Public Hearing ready for publication
April 17, 1953, hearing c~nuld be held day ~., 1953. He further stated if they did
this, they could advertise for bids on the strest 1^rork April 2~.th, May is t, and Iday
8th.
The Commission instructed l7'. A, Arthur, Supt. of P~lic ~'lorks, to get Roy Shipp, Con-
tractors actual cost to date for vaork and material used on the roof at the Disposal
Plant.
The Commission instructed 7.A. Artizur, Supt. of Public ?°torks, to advise C.E. Cook,
I. J. Kibodeaux, and Randall Johnson, they waxl.d have to connect to the serer main in
the 411ey of Block 69, Bay Front, within two irreelss of notice, or 1 egal action would
be takes.
T'ne Co?~nnission ~^*ere unanimous in perrcri.tting G. 1~T. Cole to connect to sewer in the Alley
of Block 8, Bay Frtmt, if he would give the Gity a four (1~) foot easement aff Lot 12,
Block I;1, Bay I*ro~1t. Ee tivould have to pay far the construction of the line through
his proporty.
