The City Clerk advised the Commission that the City had in 1923, placed a flaw in the title of Block 19, La Porte. The City intended to bring suit against parts of Lots 16, 17, 18, and all of Lot 19, Block 185, La Porte. They, hos~rever, inadvertently described the pr operty as all of Block l~, parts of Lots 16, 17, 18, Block 185, La Porte. The City Clerk further stated that a I.qr. !baron had applied for a Guaranty Po~.i.cy from the Stewart Title Company on Lots 17, 18, 19, Block 19, La Porte, and be- fore thgr would issue a Policy they would need a Deed out of the City to cure this mistake. ~. Notion by ~'Vhite, second by Rigby, authorizing the IrTayor to sign a quit Claim Deed ::~~~ to J. H. Outlaw on Lots 17, 18, 19, Block 19, La Porte. ~' Carried. ~~ T-he Gity Clerk read a letter from Hugh January & Compa,r~r, Realtors, offering the City Lots 17 to 32, Block 1156, La Porte, f or $750.00, the City assuming all outstanding' taXes• The Co.ssion answered they' ~rere not interested. The City Att~ney asked the Com+~ission to give some thought to the Paving Assess- r~ents, ar~ourrt, maturity, etc. Mr. R. L. Barnes requested the City Clerk to make application in Psis behalf to the Corr~tnission. for refund of fees he paid for plumbing and building permits he did not use, tie total amount of fees paid by him being ~2I.09. 'Moti.on by ~flhi.te, second by Rigby, azsthori~ing the City Clerk to refund to Mr. Barnes, X21.09, fees he paid for plumbing a1d building permits vrhich he did not use. Carried.
