Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor r~, D. Buxgin~
~ri.th the follouving members and city of~.cials present: Com~rri.ssioners L. R. Rigby
and xobert A. tiVhite~ Supt. of P~1ic forks ?~T. A, Arthur City Attorney Eds~rard J.
Cade and City Clerk J.E, r~uldoon.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.,
Motion by k~'hite, secorr3 by Rigby approving estimate of Balco~ Incorporated) in
the amount of X13,500.90, and instructed the City Clerk to issue a check for this
amount.
Carried.

A. B. Moore ~gineering Co:~pany~ in the amount of X375.03, and instructpt3. the City
Clerk to issue check for same,

A Mr. Adam„-appeared before the Commissian in an effort to se11 the City a street
sweeper, His price was 8l~.00.00 for a new sweepers and approximately $~1~800.00
for a used sweeper, deliver.. The Commission advised him to leave his literature
and if they decided to purchase one they would let him knacv.

Berry, The ~4djutant General, Austin, Texas, in connection with inviting the Texas
Aix National Guard to the City's muzv..cipal airport,

Mayor Burgin appointed a Committee to interest more home finance companys in
financing home loans in La Porte. The committee appointed i s as follows: George
Traylor, Cha3xman, Russell Shepherds Jim I~+Iays, Bryan r,Ioore, Roy Shipp, Frank Baker,
and T~tm. P, (Bi71) Jones. The Commission unax~3.mously approved this committee.

The City Clerk read a letter fror.- the Teas Highvray Department, in which they gave
estimates for paving omissions in Blocks 57 and 59, La Porte, ~d the paving of
Broadway', between E to G Streets.
The Cormiission csrdered the letter fi7.ed, and assessrr~rrts levied if the State agreed
to do the paving.

The Commission urianimou~sly designated J~uary 1 as a holiday to the day Men,
and to be paid a full daay~ s wage. Tn the etrerrt they work on this day, they will
be paid double time.
