Regular meeting of t he City Commission was called to areler by Mayor M. D, Burgin
with the follo~.ng members and city officials present: Commissioner Robert A,
WY~ite, City Attorney Edward J. Cade Supt. of Public Works W. A. Arthur and
Gity C 1 erk J, E. Pduldoon,
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Mrs. C.C. Whitmire and Mrs. W. B. Byrd appeared before the Commission in conn-
ection with c~r3inage on Lobit Street, claiming water runs' all over their property
instead of fo].I:owing the natural drainage. The Commission advised them they
would have the City F~ig3.neer go dov~m on the grounds and make a survey. to see
if it was feasible to run a ditch from Park Avenue along Lobit Street, and
empty into creek running through the Spaarrn property, that is if the other
property cars in Blocks 23, 2?~ and 27, Bay Front Addition, were agreeable.
The Commission stated they wou7,d advise them of their findings as soon as
possible.
l+~r. Leo Gaber appeared before the Commission and requested that the City at
least pave 125 feet, or dust past his driveway on Hazel Street. He stated
that if the other people on this street did not want it, he ~rould not waxrt
• to insist that the City run the paving father than his request.
Pdr. Maurice Bright and R~', J.D. Morroa+r appeared before the Commission ar~'1
requested they ,pave South Blackwell. Mayor Burgin ans;Mered that he had talked
with Commissioner Chapman and he had assured him that if the City wauld cooper-
ate,, theyw auld pave South Blackwell, Ma;~ar~ Burgin stated he had given his
word to Commissioner Chapman that the City would c ooperate with the County,
and that the City would complete Roscoe Avenue after the first of the year.
ffiYyan Moore appeared before the Commission and rec}~ ested the Commission to
pave "Err Street, from 2nd to 3rd. The Commission advised him that this street
was not in the original plans, and at this time they did not have sufficient
monies to do this work. They stated that maybe at some later date, it would
be possible for thcet to do this.
Judge John R. Eckhardt C®rporation Court Judge, and Chief of Police ~Yalter M.
Roberson, appeared before the Commission, and a disnnssioa was held on their
offices and the amount of fines assessed arbd collected.
Motion by ~~Thitet second by Burgin, that Ordinance No. LaS~., being

Motion by White, second by Burgin, authorizing the-purchase of 317 tons
of crushed rock and 5200 gallons of asphz7.t, for "J" Street, between
8th and Broadv~ray.
Carried.
