stox~ sc!ver, frog. "Eta to "G" Streets on Iiigh~,va.3* 1t~6, as set out in estate
Hi;hway Depaxtment~ s tsinute No. 3~~-~~!-~7-. He thin called upon annyone in th-
audience to express their opinion, and state their objections, if they
had ar~y~ to this pro~~ whic:~ tine ~'ity of L:a Forte wa.s proposing to do
in coopers,tion vrith the State Highway Dep3xt:~ent. No one ar..s~uered.
The City ~.ttorney, fir. r~c~v'arrel_ J. Cr~.de, asked the Tax Assessor-Collector
ix. J. L. Iiuld.oon, ti~rho has ha,d 25 years experience in appraising values
in the City of Ls, Porte, if he thought. the assessment against the property
for this vrork would enhance the value of the propert~r. ~,~r. ~~aldoon stated,
in hi.s opinion, it •rrould definitely o7.hancc the value, sevwral ti>~es over
the present value, if this work ,gas performed.
The City Co13ission instructed the City ~.ttorney to draw ~ ordinance
c7_osing the hearing given to the real awnci true owr~rs of property abutting
on State i~.gYn~ray 1J~6, from South 1tL~tt to South "G" Streets, in the City of
La, Porte, Texas, for vrork as set out in State High;~ray Depr?xt~nt I~Zinute
No. 31_~1.1~., grid fixed the assessment at 5f5.85 per lineal foot.
