Bur~- gin~ Frith the follen:ing members and city offioi ala present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby ani H. P. Pfeiffer, Ernest L. Bro:rn, Jr., City Bond Consultant, John S. Kiibler, Special Counsel, and J. E. Muldoon, City Clerk. Minutes of the 1 ast meeting ~ ere read and approved. M]r. Ernest L . Brown, Jr., advised the City on inf ormat i,on from Wyatt C. Hed- rick, Engineer, of the plans for se~rerage in Sylvan Beach Addition, and to sections in the West and NorthRest part of La Porte. The approxime.te cost ~rould be X56, 000.00, and the City vo ting a X60, 000.00 issue , ~o uld leave a ten percent euon for contingencies. These bonds Rould be t ax bonds, hoR ever they cc,uld be paid off tom the irxone in netr connections, and from moneys being dropped, Which is not necessary to be deposited in the $250,000 revenwe reserve fund. After much discussion, the Mayor asked the Commission to pass an ordinance he had ~rt~~ten. Ordinance No. 1179 The Mayor introduced ~ ordinance calling a bond election. The ordinance eras read in fall. anti Ccmmi.ssioryer Rigby moved that it be adopted. The motion Ras seconded by Commissioner Pfeiffer and carried by the foll.orodng vote: AYES; Mayca• Bergin, Commissioners Rigby and Pfeiffer. NOES: None. Motion by Pfeiffer, ,second by Rigby, grar~i.ng the Eagles permission to stage ihe3r turkey shoot and carnival December 19th end 20th. Carried. The Commission uaaaiiaous],y agreed ~I.th the owners of Bloclm 23 and 24, La- Porte, that if they ~oaa~structed the se~rear in these blocks in accordance with the City s speeif"icatians, the Gity would waive the sewer tap charga, but would charge the~~2.50 inspection fee. Carried. The Comsn3.ssion insiavcted the City Clerk to pay the owners of the Grand- view Avenue water line is equal portions, the moneys pwdd t ® the City by mss. Blanche Kennel, A. E. Lee Estate, and mss. Garry Gossett, for water connections to said 13.ne; Carried. The Commission agreed to cooperate with the merchants and the Bayshore Chamber of Ccmeneree in sponsoring "Sack DaQr" each Wednesday. The merchants are permitted to pnrb a sack over the parking mater heads on Wednesdays, but mast have the sack off Thursday mornir~. Mr. Jno. S. Kiihler~, Special Counasel, reported to the Commission the necessary requ3re~ner~ts for the city tc> partidpate with the ~deral Gove~n- ment far city emnployees in Social Security. - The Mayor was instructed by the Com~eission to coact A. C.
