The City Commission of the City of La Porte, Texas met in Special session at the r egular meeting place within s ~d.d City. on the 13th day of January, 1955, with the following members presents M.D.&u~g~.n Mayan L. R. Rigby Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer ComIIdssior~er J. E. Muldoon City Clerk when the following bus3r~ess was transacted: The Mayor introduced a Resolution and moved its adoption. The Resolution Ras read in full and Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer moved that it be adopted as read. The motion was seconcl.eci vy Coammissioner L. R, Rigby and carried by the folloari.ng vote : AYF~5 : Mayor Burgin, C oanmis scone rs Rigby and Pfeiffer. NOES : Nore . The Resolution thus adopted follows RESOLUTION CANVASSIlaG R,ETtRNS AND DECLARIlVG RESULTS OF BOND ELECTION WHEREAS, there was held in the City of La Porte, Texas, on the 8th day of January, 1955, an election at which was submitted to th,e duly qualified residexit electors of s aid City who am taxable property within said City and who had duly r endered the saw for taxation, far their action thereupon, the following PROPOSITION SHALL THE CITY COM[~LCSSION OF THE CTPY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS BE AUTHORIZED TO ISSUE THE BONDS OF SAID CITY IN THE AMJUNT OF $60,000, MATiRIl~'s SERIALLY WITHIN THIRTY (30) YEARS FROM THEIR DATE OR DATES, AND BEARING INTEREST AT A RATE NOT 7.U EgCEID FOUR (!~) PFR CENT' PER ANNUM, FDR THE ACQUISITION OF A CAP- ITAL PROJECT, TO~PIT: IMPROVIlJG AND EXTEtdDING THE CITY'S SAN- ITARY SEAfFR SYSTEM, AND TO LEVY TAXES ON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIlJ SAID CITY SUFFICSEN7.' Section 2: That the City Commission is Hair authorized to issue said bonds a ~ o any and all things necessary and convenient in cx~nr~action therenrith. Motion by Rigby, second ifi Pfeiffer, to accept and open bids on February lst, ],955, at 10:00 A. M., at the City Hall, for X60,000 Sanitary Sewer System Improvement Bonds. Carried.
