Special meeting of the City Comm_i.ssion was called to order by Mayor M. D. Burgin,
with the fo7lovr~.ng members a nd city officials present: Commissioners L. R. Rigby
ar~d H. P. Pfeiffer Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J. E. Muldoon.
~. L. E. Posey, Jr.~ 11? South Broad ray, appeared before the Commission, and re-
quested to build a room of frame construction on tcm his home, located in Block
~ 7, La Porte, which is in the Fire Zone. This request was denied, however, he
was advised he could move his shop build~.ng back, and add to his home. He would
however, have to build his shop building out of f5.reproof material.
Ate. Sam Friedlander and Mr. Frank Jonte appeared before the Comtnission~ and d.s-
cussed what help they o0 old expect from the City in having certain streets black-
topped.
Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, to change order on Item 5 on street lamp
from Holmes & Roscoe, to North 10th and Adams, or change eider to read for total
lamps to:

Carried.
Motion by Rigby second by Pfeiffer to accept check No. 521, in the amount of
~2~281~.29, being two percent (2~) of the Houston Lighting & Pvarer Company's
195l~ Gross Receipts.
Carried.
~'. Frank R. Boyle, Sr ., appeared before the Commission, and asked if the City
would participate in ar~y~ of the cost of water to be iiirnished in Block 130
La Porte.
Upon motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, the City would agree to tap on Fire
Liebe at South side o£ ecrner of "E" and 3rd, run back to alley, and then cross
"E" Street, to end of present line, 95 feet, more cr less, and Mr. Frank R.
Boyle to pay for water pipe and ditching in Block 130, La Porte.
Carried.
Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, to transfer Grove Avenue, from Grandview
Avenue to Bay, to the County of Harris, and will transfer it to them in any
manner they wish.
Carried.

The Commission discussed making services available to 52 proposed houses to
be built in La Porte Terrace, outside the city limits of La Porte.
The Co¢nm:i.ssion stated that if the developers of La Porte Terrace would put up
a sufficiezrt bond, guaranteeing that 52 houses would be built, the City would
extend fire line to the corner of 11th and "F" Streets, and if the houses are
not built, the oi~mers of La Porte Terrace are to pay for this fire main exten-
sion. The- City will also extend the seiner, one block further than planned.
There being no further business, upon motion by ftigb y, second by Pfeiffer,
the meeting adjourned.
