• MINtTPES - RDGULAR MEETIlVG LA PQ&TE ~'ITY COMMISSION -MARCH 18, 1955 4:30 P. M. Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to orate by Moor M. D. Burgin, with the follosi.ng members and city officials presemt: Comm3.ssior:ers L.R. R3.gby and H. P. Pfeiffer, Supt. of Public .Works W. A. Arthur, Special Coun- sel Jno.S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J.E. Muldoon. motes of the last meeting were read at~d approved. The La Porte Independent Sch©ol District informed-the City Ccmmiission that Mr. K. A. Morton is no longer employed by them a,s the school deputy, and that Mr. Harry Gill has been employed,to replace Mr. Morton. Notice by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, that Mr. K.A. Mort~'a badge be returned, and that his deputation and bond be cancelled, and that badge, deputation and bond be replaced in the Hama of Harry Gill. Carried. Motion by Pfeiffer, second b9' Rigby, to write a letter to ~'. John Wright, 204 S. 3rd Street, and request him to remove his fence from the follord.ng streets: Texas, frcug "J" to "M", and cross-streets 'r K", "1" and "M". Carried. Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, giving Harris County, Precinct 1, per- mission to uae the City of La Porters garbage disposal, to duarrp garbage from Clear Lalae Park, free of charge, in return far other considerations. Carried. Motion by Pfeiffer, secoal by Rigby, instructing Public Works Superintendent W.A. Arthvor to construct a labor aback at Polk Av+earce and North Braa~iway, for laborers and prospective workers, shack to have two sides, and benches. Carried. The ComYm3.ssion agreed to discuss the purcha se of grass cutters for streets and vacant lots in the city, and to have other data available at the next meeting. The Cceamission requested Mr. Jesse Beall to appear before them to discuss sewage line he was constructing in~Blooks 80-and 89, La P®rte. Mr. Beall stated he would guarantee his se~rage 3ob~ and that it would work to tie last building site in Bl®ck -89, La Porte, aixi if it did not, he ~auld re- pair it himself. 291 292 The Cam~eissi0a instructed Mr. W. A. Arthta', Public Works Superintendent, to 031 "G" Street, adjacent to Block 133, La Pa¢~te, and 6th Street, ads ~aceat to Block 71~, La Porte.
