MIIJUTES - REGULAR MEETING LA PORTE CITY CONWIISSION -APRIL 15TH, 1955 x:30 P. ~. Regular meeting of the City Commission Ras called to order by Mayor M, D. Burgin with the following members aryd city officials present: Camnri.ssionere L. R. Rigby aid H. P. Pfeiffer Supt. of Public Marks ~f.A. Arthur, Airport Manager 'P~m. FI. Baugh, Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, and City Clerk J.E. Muldoon. l~.nutes of 'the last sleeting were read and approved. Mr. A~. ~Padsrrorth appeared befca~e the Commission in regard to a discussion of the airport. A discussion was held on a request of the Texas National Cuari to build a hangar Pest of the National Guard building, and also adjacent to a pipe line. Mr. Baugh, Airport Manager, recc~mnended that the hangar be constructed East and not ~kst of the National Guard building. The Coamnission agreed, aryl asked Special Counsel Jno.S. Kiibler to write a letter to the Texas National Guard, giv3.rg their reason far re3ecting their request, and their main r eason for interfering with a master plan ar~d location for an admi,rii.9tration building • in the future. Motion by Rigby, secony@1 by Pfeiffer, approving a master plan for future development of the La Porte Muni.c~pa1 Airport, including also, reservation for an administration building in the area. Carried. The Mayor read parts from a Texas State HighRay cc~tract, between the City and the State. The Commission referred the contract to Jno.S. Kiibler, Special Counsel, for his interpretation. D~tion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby to raise insurance policy No. F 10303, from X2,000.00 coverage to X5,000.00 coverage, for 5 years, for a premium of X208.5©. Carried. The Ccmmsi.ssion referred the Peddlers s ordinance back to Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, to t~.nd out if he oc uld write an o rdinance placing a bond on all peddlers, instead of a lieemse only on Texas peddlers. The Bdayor submitted a surer contract form to the Commission for their approval. After sow discussion, srrl some recommended changes, the form was ret>d to the Attorney, for final writing. Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigbyi authorizing H. P. Pfeiffer to purchase a rotary cutter from Dearborn Equipment or LansdaRr~e-Moody Co., Inc. f which ever one offers the best price and the quickest delivery. 299 Carried. 300 Motion by Ri;by~ sed~ond by Pfeiffer, that the meeting ad~otxrrl.
