MINUTES - REDUTAR MEETING

Regular meeting of the City Com-~i.ssion was called to cinder by Maya' M. D.
Burgin, with the follovr3.ng members and city officials present: Com<aissio~rs
L. R. Rigby and H. P. Pfeiffer, Special Counsel J`no. S. Kiibler, Supt. cf
Public 'Norks Y.A. Arthur, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker.
Also present were Mr. Ernest L. Broom, Jr., bond broker, and Mr. Cobb ~I.WI~~"
Mr~. F. W. "Bert" Wheeler, of Houston.
Motion bq Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that Civil Air Patrol Group 25, be per-
riitted to use the La Porte MursS.cipal. Airpa~ t on Saturday, April 1l~th, for a
simulated search for lost plane. This group included Ottie Gardner, Arthur
L. Gardner, David H. Bevan, and A.W. Carter.
Carried.
Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, that Mr.$rnest L. Brown, Jr.~ be employed
to represent and advise the City of La Polite on the financial matters pertain-
ing to VFater Control atxl Improvement District #5b, Harris County, Texas.
Carried.
Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, th~.t Ordi~nce No. 1196, be adapted as
read.
Carried.
The caption of such adopted Ordinance reads as follows';

Motion by Pfeiffer, secorri by Rigby, adthorizing Special Counsel Jno. S.
Kiibler to write a letter to the Farrington group.

Motion by Pfeiffer, seQOixk by Rigby that Southwestern Bell Telephone Company s
check for 2~ gross receipts tax, be accepted.
Carried.
Motion by Pfeiffer, secoz~ by Rigby, that Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
to purchase ~30,000.0~ worth of Government bonds with, t he surplus interest and
sinking funds.
