MINUTES -REGULAR MEETING
LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION -OCTOBER 5th, 1956

Regular meeting of the City Commission was palled to order by Mayor M. D.
Burgin, with the following City Commissioners present: Commissioner
L. R. Rigby, Commissioner H. P. Pfeiffer, John S. Kiibler, Special Counsel,
Frank G. Baker, City Clerk and Mrs. Stabs, of the "Press" and ~. A. Arthur,
Supt. of works .
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Frank Hoot appeared before the Commission to inquire as to topping Sixth
Street. No action was taken.
Action on statement from the County on air and water pollution was deferred
to a later date.
Motion by Pfeiffer, seoond by Rigby that the City not intervene at this
time in gas rate pertaining to Houston Pipe Line case.
Carried.
Motion by 8igby, second by Pfeiffer that Ordin~oe ~jl3 be adopted.
The oaption of such Ordinance reads as follows:
AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN AIRPORT COMMISSION AND PRESCRIBING THE
POWERS AND DUTIES THERE OF; CREATING THE OFFICE OF AIRPORT MANAGER
AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS OF OFFICE OF SUCH MANAGER AND MEMBERS OF
SUCH AIRPORT COMMISSION.
Carried.
Discussion on airport and disposal plant engineering vas discussed at length.
The Mayor vdll report back to Commissim as to posts irnrolved.
Motion by Rigby, seoond by Pfeiffer that meeting adjourn.
Carried.
