Pfe3.ffer absent), Special Counsel Jno. S. Riibler~ and-City Clerk Frank.. G'. Baker. Also preseat were Chief Sheppard, Patrolmen Lowery and Suet, John Champagne, and Supu t, of Public Works l~r. A, Arthur . ~.nutes of the last meeting were read and approved. n The hiring of a new patro7laan was discussed. Applicat$oas of several men Were r'eviePred. On the recommendation of Chief Sheppard, Mr. S. H. Svec was, favored b~ the Commission. Mbtion by Rigby, seccmd by Burgin, that M~. Sylvester, H. Svec be employed as Patrolman, effective March 23, 195?, at a salary of ~285.0o per month. Carded. Lotion by f~i.gby~ Second by Burgin, that "~TO Parking Signs" be~ placed on ifest side of North 7th Street, in the 200 Bloc~~ arxi that parking would not be permitted there during the hours "of 4s 00 ~'. M. to 12:00 P. M. Carried. Correspondence Was introduced and discussion was held on proper highway signs aixt signals. Thee State Highway Department will make survey and'recommer~dations. Motion by Burgin, second by Rigby, be constructed. that seller and water line for $. B. Harrison Carried. Bids on lots vRned by the City of La Porte, which are to be sold to the highest bidders, will be received until April 19th, 1957, at 10:00 A. ~, F The second regular meeting in April, of the City Commission, will be held at 1b:00 A.
