MINUTES -REGULAR MEETING
LA PORTE CITY COM6dISSION - NOVEMBER 1ST, 1957
1~:3O P. M.
Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem
H. P. Pfeiffer, with the following present: Commissioner L. R. Rigby, Speoial
Counsel John S. Kiibler, Supt. W. A. Arthur, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker.
Also present was Mrs. W. A. Stabs, (Press).
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Carried.
Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that Ordinanoe No. 52t~, be adopted as
read. The caption of such adopted Ordinance reads as follows:
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE SALE AND DISCHARGE OF FIREPPCfftKS,
TCfftPEDOES, ROCKETS, AND OTHER COMBUSTIBLE FIRE4PCRKS OF ANY
KIND OR NATURE; PROHIBITING THE SHOOTING, FIRING OR DISCHARG-
ING OF ANY GUN, REVOLVER, OR PISTOL, WITHIN THE CITY OF IA-
PC~tTE, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; REPEALING ALL C;ffi-
DINANCES OR PARTS OF CfftDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERENfITH; PRO-
, VIDING THAT ANY PERSON, FIRM, CORPCfftATION, COMPANY CR ASSOC-
IATION, ~PHO SHALL VIOLATE ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS OR-
DINANCE, SHALL UPON CONVICTION THEREFCIt BE FINED IN ANY SUM
NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF ONE HUNIKtED DOLLARS (100.00).
Carried.
Motion by Rigby, second by Pfeiffer, that the City sell South 8' of Lot 22,
Block 60, La Porte to highest bidder on November 15, 1957, instructing City
Clerk to post notice of sale.
Carried.
Motion by Pfeiffer, second by Rigby, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
