On this, the 26th day of Larch, A.D. 1958, the City Commission of the City of La Porte, Harris County, Texas, met in Special Session, which had been duly called, at the City Hall, in said City, at nine o'clock (9:00) A.M., with the foTlow;.ng members thereof present, to-wit: H. P. Pfeiffer, Maya' Pro-Tem; L. R. Rigby, Commissioner; with the following members thereof absent, to-wit: None; also present were Prank G. Baker, City Clerk, and attorney Jno. S. Kiibler. The M~rcr's office being vacant, arxi being filled by the said Mayor Pro-Temp the members present constituted a quorum, at which meeting the following business and proceedings were transacted. Mayor Pro-Tem H. P. Pfeiffer introducted Ordinance No. 195, which had heretofore been introduced, approved and passed by the City Commission of "the City of La Porte, on its first reading, on the 20th day of March, A. D. 1956, the caption of such Ordinance No. 495 is as follows: " "AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE DOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, TEXAS, AND ENLARGING AND EXTFd~TDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY AND ANNEXING ADDITIONAL TERRITORY LYING ADJACII+TT TO SAID CITY WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF"THE TERRSTOi~C AND THE INHABITANTS ANNEIO;D; PROVIDING F~ PUBLICATION OF' THE ORDNANCE AFTER ITS INIT?AL INTRODUCTION AND PASSAGE BY THE CITY COI~JLLSSION OF SAID CITY; PROVIDING THAT ANY CITIZII+t OF THE SAID CITY CP. OF THE TERRITCRY TO SE ANNEX SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONTEST SUCH ANNERATION AND BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD; AND PRO- VIDING ASAVINGS CLAUSE." Ordinance No. 1195 eras read in full. Commissioner L. R. Rigby moved that Ordinance No. 1195 be approved and passed by the City Coimni.ssion of the City of La Porte on its second and final reading; the motion was seconded by ~dayor Pro-tem H. P. Pfeiffer. The motion carried by the following vote: Commissioner L. R. Rigby and Mayor Pro-tem H. P. Pfeiffer voting "Aye", arri Wane vc~ti.ng "No"• Mayor Pro-tem H. P. Pfeiffer introduced a proposed Ordin.2nce No. 53~, the caption of which is as follows: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDIlJG ORDINANCE NO. 494 INTROnucED, APPROVED AND PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PCRTE, ON ITS FIRST READING ~ ON THE 20TH IAA Y OF MARCH, A. D. 1956, FIXING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LA PCRTE, .TEXAS, AND FNLARGIIJG AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY AND ANNEXING ADDITIONAL TERRIT~t.Y LYIldO ADJACENP TO SAID CITY WITHOUT THE OONSENP OF THE TE~TOHY AND THE INHABIT- ANTS ANNEXED; PROVIDING FtR. PUBLICATION CF THE ORDINANCE AFrFR ITS INITIAL INTRODUCTION AND PASSAGE BY THE CITY COMG!!lISSION OF SAID CITY; PROVIDING THAT ANY CITIZEN OF THE SAID CITY ~ OF THE TERRITORY TO BE ANNEX® SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONTEST SUCH ANNEXATION AND SHALL BE GIVEN AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE HEARD; AND ~P'ROVIDII+IG A SAVINGS CLAUSE." Proposed Ordinance No. 534 was read in full. Commissioner L. R. Rigby moved that the Ordinance No. 534 be approved and passed by the City Commission of the City of La Porte, on its first reading; the motion was seconded by Mayor Pro-tem H. P. Pfeiffer. The motion carried by the follo~ri.ng 'vote: Commissioner L. R. Rigby and Mayor Pro=tem H. P. Pfeiffer voting "Aye", and none voting "No". There being no further business to come befEre the meeting, upon motion made by Commissioner L. R. Rigby, the meeting Was adjourned at ten o'clock (10:00) A.
