Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the following Commissioners present: Browny Osburn~ Boyle
and L~ler. Also present were Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler~ and Supt.
W.A.Arthur .
Mr. Ray Johns of Tyson Smith Company, T_t?rs. Stabs (Press), Mr. Joe Camp
hlr. Jim Holly (Press), Mr. f~obert Mc Daniel, Mr. Neldon Henderson, Mr.
Davis, Tt+ix'. Pittman, Attorney at law, were also present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Carried.
Iw+1r. Johns discussed new water tanks with the Commission.
I~fr. Camp discussed with the Commission why his lotiv bid on the fire truck
chassis was not accepted.
Mr. Mc Daniels, representinE; the engineering firm of Johnson and Associates,
attended the Commission meeting to introduce his firm.
I,4otion by Boyle, second by bawler, that W. A. Stabs, Jr., be appointed Assis-
tant Fire I+:arshall at no compensation except ~~vhen assuming duties of Fire
Ma rshall.
Carried.
Isar. Boyle made a report on the playgrounds that are to become a reality in
the near future.
Motion by Boyles second by La~rrler~ that ire Chief be allowed to use the
City courtesy cards to purchase gasoline_.from various stations, not to
e$ceed $20.00. per montlz.
Carried.
P.?otion by Lawler, second by Boyle, that Mr. Arthur purchase pump for ~!~)a.3.65,
from South Texas Equipment Co.
Carried.
I+.?otion by Osburni second by Boyle, that 1!.4r. Arthur be authorized to purchase
1500 feet of 2~~ pipe for X683.00.
Carried.
