Regular meeting of theCity ~m..mnission was celled to order by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, tiRri_th the follo~ra.~~g Commissioners present: Odell gown, Jack Lawler, and Frank R. Boyle. Also present were City Clerk ~a_nk G. Baker,. Special CotLnsel Jno.S. Kiibler, and Supt. W. A, Arthur. h4inutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Corurri.ssioner Boyle stated that he would contact County to .see if the Welfare office in La Porte can be air conditioned, at their expense. h4otion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that regular meetings be,changed to 7:00 P. M. Carried. Upon motion made by Boyle, second by La~rrler, the following Resolution was unani- mously adopted and approved: RESOLUTION Be it resolved by the City Commission of the City of La Porte that the mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized to cash the three (3) ~10,00fl U. S. Government, >melonging to the Water anal Sewer Bond Interest and Sinking Rind, and that the proceeds thereof be deposited in s2.id interest aid sinking fund, and that thereafter the Mayor a~xl City Cleric invest in share accounts the sure of X10,000 each in the follow:i.ng Federal Savi ngs .& Loan Associations, to wit: Pasadena Savings & Loan Association, Pasadena, Texas; prudential Savings & Loan Association, Houston, Texas, and Heights Savings & Loan Association, Hou st on, Texas, and it is s o ordered. Carried. Motion by Lawler, second by Boyle, that the meeting be recessed until July 2nd, 1958, at 7:00 P. M. Carried. JULY 2, 1958 7:00 P. M. The City Commission of the Gity of La Porte reconvened at this time, with the following present: Commissioners Boyle, Brown, Lawler and Osburn, hgayor H. P. Pfeiffer, Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, City Clerk Frank Baiter, and Supt. ~1. A.Arthur. Also present were Mrs. Stahs (Press), Al Koehler, Chas. Brown, Sam Nelson (Parking Meter Representative), Pdr. Ray ~.4orley, Mr. rdilton Beck, aid Mr. King. • Rfir. Koehler talked at length concerning the water, situati on, as to production of present wells and storage. 112x. Sam~Nelson demonastrated a parking miter to..the City Commission, manuel operated. - ~. Nor. Morley wanted to knovr if the City would participate in the' sleYelopment ' of Blocks 333 and 33~.. The Commissioners stated that they would check requirements ar~d give R4r. b4orley an ansv~er. ~ ,; ~ ~.. .. . . Mr. Itfilton Beck appeared befcme,the Commission reporting violations of the City plumbing code. ~~ _•, , • Tiro -bids were received on moving storage tank. They were W. H. Heintschel ~ and•-M. T. Motion by Boyles second by Lavrler~ that Commissioner Boyle be authorized to apply for loan from the First National Bank in La Porte, for purchase of fire truck, Carried.
