Regtil.ar meeting of the City Commission Ras called to order by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer,
with tha following present: Commissioners Lawler, BroRn, Osborn and Boyle, Special
Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, Supt. A.A. d.~rthur, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker.

Carried.
Mr. Marks appeared befaa~e the Com3maission to request that the City Commission
remove the parkixig meters on l;th Street, mom Main to "A" Street. The Com~-
ission will surtreg ltth Street and ~re Mr. Marks an answer later.
Motion by Boy3.e~ second by HraRm~ that Mrs. C.F. Dohoney be employed as daytime
dispatcher, at a salary of X210.00 per month, salary to be retroactive to start
of her time,
Carried.
Motion by Boyle, second by Brawn, that Commsissioner Boyle be authorized to
change telephone systean of Fire ~Iepartment, City Hall and Police Department,
as scheduled.
Carried.
Motion by Bogle second by Lawler, that City notify Southwestern Bell Telephox~
Cavnpar~r that Citg will hold, them liable to damage to streets.
Carried.
Leonard Po]k's application fcr Rine and beer permit Ras referred to the Health
Commissioner.
Motion by Boyles second bg Bropm, that lease agreement from: Benson Tractor Compax~t
be referred to Attarx~y Kiibl~, and if on his approval, signatures Rill be
attached.
Carried.
Motion by L~rler~ second by BroRn~ that Ordinance No• 553 be adopted ~ read.
The caption of such adopted ordinance reads as follows:

WHEREAS, heretofore, the Mayor of the City of La Porte prepared.
and submitted to the Ciyik~r Commission, at its meeting held on the 25th day
of August, A. D. 1958, his proposed budget for the fisoal year, from the
1st day of July, A. D. 1958, t o the 30th day of June, A. D. 1959; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission filed suoh proposed budget with
the Clerk of the City on the ,25th daffy of August, A. D. 1938, and desig-
nated that a publio hearing an such budget be held at the City Fall at
7:00 P. M. on the 19th d~}r of Sept ember, A. D. 1958, and caused publio
notice of suoh hearing to b® made; and `
WHEREAS, suoh public hearing has been held;
N(~P, THEREFORE, it is ordered by the City Commission that the
budget, as prepared and submitted by the Mayor, and as amended by the
City Commission, is hereby finally approved by the City Commission, and it
is hereby ordered that a true Dopy of such approved budget, 'together with
a Dopy of this order, shall be filed in `eaoh of the' offides of the Clerk
of the City of La Porte, the County Clerk of Harris County, Texas, and the
State Comptroller, at Austin, Texas.
