Regular meeting of the City commission`was called to ord"er by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, with the following members p"resent: Commissioners- Boyle, Brun, Osborn and La~rler~ Supt. tiY.A.A~'thur, Special Counsel Jno.S. Kiibler, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker. Also present were Bill Cornelius Bernard Johnson, Dougla's Boyle, Bob Mc Daniel, Jim Mousner (Press), Al Kohler and Chas, .Brown. IuLi.nutes of the last meeting were read an3 approved, upon motion by Lawler, second by Osborn. Carried. Motion by Osborn: second by Lati°rler~ that Orc~i.n.ance No. X62, be adopted as read. ' Carried. Mr, Johnson of Bernard Johnson and Associates, presented his firmts ability to hanc'1e the city of,La Porter s futwre expansion program. Mr. Al Kohler also presented his firmts ability to handle the Cit;~ of La Partets engineering needs. Mr. Kohler represents Hedrick & Stanley. No action was taken with either firm. Motion by Lawler, second by Browny that the Police Radio be moved to the County Building, and the fire radio be left in present' location, after the Mayor has iiwestigated the possibility of this being a w~kable solution. Carried. Motion by Lawler second by C~sbarn~ that a truck loading zone be established i~.front of James StewartTS warehouse on South 1~th Street, same to be painted yellow'.. Carried, Motion by Osborn, second by Boyles that Robert (Bob) ~RYiite be appointed to Zoning Board, to replace Lester Schima.. Carried. • • ~i Motion by Lawler, second by Osborn, that Mrs. Verda Kelly be placed on ~onirig Board, to replace Leo Gaber. ~_ _ R ~ _ ~ Carried, Motion by Boyle, seco~. by Brown, that Community House and lb lots be purchasedi from La Porte Indeper~l.ent School District, for a purchase price of X1,291,15, This is in Block 267, La Porte, Carried. Motion by B rown, second by Lav+rler, that above motion be tabled until " Attorney Kiibler has time to check the authority of the School District to sell proper'~y to the City. t Carried. Motion by Brown, second by Lawler that six grader tires and tubes be purchased from Sears Roebuck, for X58.25 each. Carried. The fo],.l.owi.ng .bids were turned ~.n on the above tires: Sparkyts X378.70 Arnett =~ 331.06 ~4'hite 359.58 Sears Roebuck 31.12.00 ' Motion by Boyle, seaend by Os bin, that Fire Departmerrt Commissioner be authorized to take bids on 600 feet of 1~ fire hose, and report back to the Commission, r Carried, Motion by Osburn~ second by BraPn, that Supt.
