MINUTES _ REGULAR MEETING

Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P, Pfeiffer,
with the following members present: Commissioners Lawler, Brown, Osborn and Boyle,
Special Counsel Jno. S. Kiibler, Supt. ~.A. Arthur, and City Clerk Frank G. Baker.
Also present were Ernest BraPn, arr~l representatives of various concerns bidding ~
city equipffient.
Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Carried.
ldr. Ernest Brown discussed the- City- s ability to service additional bonds. The
Commission will study the City's needs and so inform Mr. Brown.
Motion by Lawler, second by ffiown, that City Clerk Frank G. Baker acknowledge
letter Eros County Judge Bill Elliott.
Carried.
motion by Osbu rn, secor~ai by Brown, that employment of Frank Holland be ratified.
Carried.
Motion by Osborn, second by Lawler, that City Clerk notif~r T. D. Howe that building 1f/
permit and other fees will be ch~ged on new High School gymnasium, /~

Motion by Lawler, seconal. by Brown, that Ross Neill be appointed to Assistant
Defense Director.
Carried.
Motion by Lawler, second by Osborn, that Comnu.ssioner Lawler be authorized to
purcha se 110 gallons of Mosquito Spray, ®$2.85 per gallon.

comrened at this tine, with the following presezit : Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer,

Motion by Osborn, second by Laxler, that the folloxing trucks be purchased
from Jay Marks Chevrolet:

with hoists insta7.]~ed, be purchased from South Texas Equipaerit Co, for
a total of 1,760,80.

Motion by Brown, second by Osborn, that 2 to 3 ton roller and trailer
be purchased foam Boehck, for a total of X1,900,00, with a 1$ cash
discow~t.
Carried.
Adotion by Brown, second by Lawler, that the Model 200 SPR Hop-to, be
purchased from Highway Equipment Company, far $12,2~1~.b,00, with 2~
cash discount.
Carried.
Motion by Lawler, secox~i by Osborn, that contract with Wyatt C. Hedrick,
doing business as Hedrick & Stanley, be executed.
Carried.
Motion by Lavrler, second by Osborn, that the following Resolution be
adopted:
RESOLIIaON OF THE CITY COM~SSION OF THE CITY OIL LA PORTE
WH~R,EAS, it appears to the City Ccxnaission of the City of La Porte
that it is in the best interest of said City to employ. Hedrick & Stanley,
Consulting Engineers, in accordance with the terms, conditions anal
agreements coa~tained in that certain contract attached hereto and. marked
"Exhibit A" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COB~EISSmN OF THE CITY
OF LA FORTE, That said City employ the said Hedrick & Stanley, Consulting
Engineers, ansl that H. P. Pfeiffer, Mayor of said City, ar~d Frank G.
Baker, City Clerk, be, and they are hereby, authorized and instructed to
execute and deliver on behalf of said City the written contract marked
"Exhibit A" hereto attached and made a part hereof.
