MINUTES - REGULAR MEET Il~C'r
LA PCpRTE CITY COMMISSION -APRIL 3, 1959
7:00 P. M.
Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the following members present: tC'ommissioners Boyle, Brouvn
and Lawler, Special Counsel Jno.S. Kiibler, and CityClerk Frank G. Baker.
Also present were Dennis Dunham, Frank Hoot, S.E. Baird, Oleta Holmes,
W. Dave Collins, Mr. Spraggins, Mr. M. C. Breaker, Jim Holly (Press), and
Mr. Davis (with Jno. Bean Fire Division).
Minutes of the last meeting were read anxi approved.
Carried.
Mr. Collins of the Carlon Products Ca~poration presented a Plastic Pipe
Canon "D", to the City. The Commission will consult with Cc~mi.ssioner
Osborn and City Engineer,
Mr. Breaker discussed a possible lease on the La Porte Municipal Airport.
Necessary plan, etc., will be submitted to the City.
i Motion by Lawler, second by Boyle, that Cliff Hyde be appointed to the Airport
Board.
Carried.
Motion by Brown, second by Lawler, that Russell Shepherd be appointed Airport
Manager, to replace F. L. Copeland.
Carried.
The application of Raymond's Place, located at Broadway and "J" Street, was
discussed. Motion by Brown, second by Boyle, that request for permit be
denied.
Carried,
Members who have not attended Zoning Board meetings, was discussed. Mr. Boyle
and Mr. Braves will contact new prospective meanbers and report back to
Commissi on.
Mr. M. C. Davis presented a le ase agreement on the purchase of fire equip-
mertt. The Commission gill discuss plans with Fire Department at next
meeting.
Motion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that Supt. Arthur be permitted to sent one
of his men to sanitation school in Baytown.
