• • ~'~' MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING LA POIRTE CITY COMMISSION - JANUAP,Y 15, 1960 7:00 P. M. Regular meeting of the City Commission eras called to order by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, with the follo~rin~ members present: Comnissia~rs Osbux~ct, Broom and Lsorler, Supt, W. A,Arthur, ant Gity Clerk Frank G. Baker. Special Counsel Kiibler was called out of torn. Also present were Druey Lewis of Beb' s Ditchir~ Service, Jim Mayes, W. D, Mayor, J. E. Bru~amett, Curtis Morris, Dennis Dunham, Doug Boyle, Gould Crefoot, falter lteberson, and Mr. Marsh anal Elsie Moore (Press). Minutes of the last meeting here read and approval. Mayor Pfeiffer asked Mr. Curtis Morris to explain the alternates sub- mittal by contractors Brummett and Mayes, Moore & Moore and Dan Tarpey Constructi®n Co. Motion by Osborn, seed by Brown, that Bob's Ditching; Service by paid the balance on contract, in the amount of X1,220.00. Carried. Mayor Pfeiffer asked f~ the bile on the ~ara~;e apartment in the rear of the fire station. City Clerk Baker said no bile here received. Motion by Lavrler, second by Osborn, that City Clerk Baker be instructed to readvertise for bids en ~ara~e apartment, bids to be opened Feb. 5, 1960. Carried. ~tian by Osborn, second by Brv~m, that an ad be run in paper, notifying residences that have boats, horses or any obstruction in the Alleys, that they Faust be removed by March 15th, or the City will reneve whatever obstruction is in the Alloy at that tixo. Carried. Moti®n by Oaburn, second by Lawler, that the City Ca~issien accept the lv~r bid as established by alternates,of X27,.080 by Moore & Mooro for fire station, plumbing on fire station to Young- Pluobing Cm., of X1633.00, ~96t4l~.00 by Moore & Moore on City Hall, X900.00 on City Hall duct work to La Porte Electric Company. Carried. Motion by Osborn, second by Lawler, that Toa Boldin~'s taxi. permit be ' reneged for 1 year. Carried. Motion by dsburn, second by Lawler, that Ji:a Mayes be replaced by ~ L. Sa:3.th, Bob ~9hi.te be replaced by Bryan Moore, and Wm. P. Jones be replaced by Guth Huddleston, on Zoning Board. Carried. Motion by Osborn, socond by Lawler, that the application mf Mrs. :d. E, Byers be denied, except far the buil~ing of addition to enlarge kitchen. C~xried, Roberson Gunite company was invited to attend the next regular meeting t® go over swimming ptaol. Motion by Osborn, second by Lawler, that the charge for dumping of septic tank material in city system, be ~5,00~ Carried. Motion by Brown, second by Osborn, that Ceennissioner Boyle be thsrized to award the painting of Community Hall t® Marshall Dickerson. Carried. Mention by Osborn, secorot by Lawler, that the bill of B & J Spring Company, Inc., be allowed, in the ae-eunt ®f X160,00. • Carried.
