Special meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the follogring members present: Commissioners Brown, Boyle,
Lawler and Osborn, and City Clerk Frank G.B aker.
Mayor Pfeiffer asked that the bids on fire truck be opened, The bids were as
follows :

Mayor Pfeiffer reccgnmended, which was seconded by Osborn, that bids of fire
truck be turned over to Commissioner Boyle to tabulate and make rec amnendations.

Motion by Osborn, second by Lawler, that bids on pool be turned over to Engineer
to tabulate and make recommendations.
Carried.
Motion by Br ovon, second by Osburn~ that the following be appointed to the
Election Board:

Mrs. Lois Compton
Mrs.Rex Baker
Mrs. Hallie Wright

Motion by Lawler, second by Brown, that the La Porte branch of the Harris
County Library be given $7.50 per month for utilities,
Carried.
Motion by Osborn, second by Lawler, that the City Commission join with the
School Board on a cooper ative basis for the collection of delinquent taxes,
and authorize the Tax Collector to mail letter which was pr esented at this
meeting,
Carried.
Motion by La~rler, second by Osborn, that the City Clerk be authorized to
purchase Elliott Addressing Machine for $3~.5.~.
Carried.
Motion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that the application of Pink Voss for
Auxiliary Police, b e accepted.
Carried.

At this point the Mayor and Can~.ssioners moved to A ttcrney Kiibler~ s office
for an executive meeting.
Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that the Citx Commission accept the
resignation of Kiibler a~ Kiibler as City Attorney, effecti ebruary ~ ,
29, 1960, and a~ploy Charles Pittman as legal counsel at a ~ ~'' ~
X250.00 per month.
Carried.
Motion by Lawler, second by Brown, that the meeting adjourn.
