Regular meeting of the CityCanmission was called to order by Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer,
with the following members present: Commissioners Broom, Boyle, Lawler aril Osburn,
Supt. ~.A, Arthur, Attorney Pitman and City Clerk Frank G, Baker,
Also present were John R4arsh and Jim Holley (Press), and Mrs. Holley.
Minutes of the last special and regular meetings were read and approved,
Carried.
Mayor Pfeiffer asked that the paving and sewer bids be opened. Engineer Carlos
Sm ith opened, and read the bids .
Motion by Brown, second by Lawler, that all bids be turned over to Lhgineer Carlos
Smith far tabulation.

Motion by Gayle, second by Osburn, that the following Resolution be adopted:
RESOLUTION
• BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of La Porte that is
is the wish and desire of the City Commission that local labor, both skilled.
and unskilled, be employed by all contractors performing contracts for the
City for street improvements, city. hall and fire station buildings, and swimrni.ng
pool, whenever possible, and further that the prevailing wage scales for such
labor be paid by such contractors.

be paid.

Motion by Lawler, second by Osburn, that Commissioner Lawler be authorized to
purchase a Ford. Mower from Lansdowne-Itinoody for X375.00; also 1 -5~ gallon dz um
mosquito spray from King Chemical Compat~ far X157.75.

Motion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that Commissioner Boyle be authorized to
purchase a concession stand far' little league baseball, not to exceed X350.00.

M otion by Osborn, s econd by Brown, that Jesse Berry be employed to replace
Robert Sowell, also J. D.Sparks to replace Ollie Garcia.

A4otion by Brawn, second by Osborn, that City Clerk Frank Baker be absent from
City March 26, and AQrs, Eula Erwin (Ass't. City Clerk) be authorized to
accept filings for candidates far April election.
