Regular meeting of the City Co7unission vras called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, vri.th the follov~~.ng members present: Commissioners Brown, Lawler,
and Boyle (Osborn absent), City Attorney C, L. Pitman, and City Clerk FY~ank
G. Baker,
I~2i,nutes of the last meeting were read and approved,
Also present were John Marsh (Press), E. L. Courtney of Courtney Construction
Company, ~~ade James, Dennis Dunham, Mrs, Elsie Moore (Press), Billy Stabs, and
Jim Holley (Press).
r,2r. Courtney of the Courtney Construction Company appeared before the Comm-
ission, proposing his services to take the old elevated water tank dovrn when
the City was in a position to discuss moving same,
The closing of the Alley in Block 165, which is being bought by the Charch of
Jesus Chri st of Latter Day Saints, was discussed, aril Attorney Pitman was
instructed to formulate a policy which would not only apply to the church, but
same to apply to closing of other blocks,
The request of Deputy Ayo and Chief Busch for a shooting range, was discussed
and. the Commission asked Mayor Pfeiffer to secure more ir_formation.
RRotion by Lawler, second by ~3rown, that the City give letter of authorization
to '~yatt C. Hedrick, as City Engineer,
Carried.
Motion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that City ask for bids on materials for
lighting of ball field, in Block 81, La Porte,
Carried.
motion by Lawler, second by Broom, that the ne~t-t regular meeting be held on
April 18th, 1960, at 7:00 P. M.
Carried.
Motion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that Commissioner Boyle be authorized to
purchase an auxiliary generator for power failure, also a projector and screen
for F'i.re Department.
Carried.
A4otion by Boyle, second by Lawler, that the City authorize Attorney Pitman to
secure a guaranteed policy on property bought from school, in the amount of
X39,722.00,
Carried,

Motion by Boyle, second by La~rrler, that Attorney Pitman be authorized to
negotiate for Lots 1, 2, 3, l~, 8, 15, 16, 17, 25, 26, 27, & 28, in Block
267, La Porte, and carry through to condemnation if necessary,
Carried.
Motion by Lawler, second by t3roum, that the 2~ gross receipts check from
Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, be accepted.
Carried,
Motion by Brrnrrn, second by Lawler, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
