7:00 P. M.
Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Osborn, Dun..
han, Brown and Stabs, City Attorney C. L, Pitman, Supt. ~.A. Arthur, and
City Clerk Frank G. Baker.
Also present were Jam Mourner, Mr. Costley, representing Smith and Lawless,
Sewer Lift Stations, 11~. Marsh, Elsie Moore (Press), .and Carlos ~nith,
Minutes of the last Special and Regular meetings were read and approved.
Carried.
Motion by Osborn, second by BraRn, that Commissioner Osborn be authorized
to ~oceed with surer extension around Block 165, L a Porte, to advertise
' for bids arxi prepare plans .

' Discussion was held on parking on "G" Street, along the Little League

Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that Commissioner Osborn be authorized
~,j to advertise for bids on moving old 50,000 gallon tank.

~-- Commissioner Stabs will discuss the removal of radio aerial on taxer,
~~ with the Pilots Association.
~ The Commission authorized the City Clerk to secure prices on benches
for Council Room.
The Mayor read a letter from Mr. E1lisor of Wyatt C. Hedrick Engineering
~` Co., pertaining to steel columns. Letter was filed in Fire Station file.

Carlos Smith. Mr. Smith stated he had t alked to Mr. ictory, and that all
items would be taken care of.
Motion by Osborn, second by Dunham, that the firm of Pittsburg Des Moines
Steel Co. be granted a 90 day extension of time on l~00,000 gallon water
taxer and tank.

Motion by Osborn, second by Brown, that Hedrick Engineering Company fee #~
in the amount of X736.47, and Fee # 5 in the amount of ~105.l~5, be paid;
Also Estimate No. 3, in the amount of X2,499.64.

Motion by Stabs, second by 3rown, that the following be paid:

Carried.
Mr. S4nith discussed the disposal plant with reference to plans for re-
working same. It Ras decided to gait until Spring of 1961 to give Hedrick
permission to prepare plans.
The item and letter from Eddie Cade was turned over to Attorney Pitman for
a decision.
Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, to okay purchase of material to repair
and 1cArer lines on Ioara Street.
Carried.
Motion by 0 sburn, second by Stabs, that Council Room be used exclusively each
Tuesday night for Ca¢~porationCourt.
Carried.
RFISQLUTION
BE IT RESOLVID BY TAE CITY CO~idISSION OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS, that
X11, 000.00 be borrc~ed from the First National Bank of La Porte for the
purpose of financing the new John Bean fire truck chassis,#V00 196 FA66095F.
Said loan to bear 1~ per annum simple interest. .The loan to be repaid at
the rate of not less than X250.00 per month plus interest beginning on or
before September lst, 1960 and continuing until ten (10) such installments
have been made and the balance of $8,500.00 shall be due and payable on or
before the 1st day of July, 1961. The loan to be secured by the above
mentioned fire truck and all payments to be made From current advalorem
tax income.
Motion by Stabs, second by Dunham, that the above Resolution be adopted
as read.

Motion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that statement of Attorney Pitman in the
amount of $337.50, be paid. This fee corers duties over and above regular
work.
Carried.
Motion by Brown, second by Osborn, that the meeting ad3ourn.
