MINUTES -SPECIAL MEETING

LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION -JULY 2b, 1960
7:00 P.M.
Mayor Pfeiffer called the Spe cial meeting to order, with the following members
present: Com:m.ssioners Brown, Osborn, Stabs and Dunham, arri City Clerk Frank
G. Baker.
Also present were Bob Stephens snd James Counts.
Motion by Stabs, second by Brown, that the liability insurance carried with
Bob Stephens be carried on 5000/10,000-5,000 basis, instead of the higher limits.
Carried.
Motion by Osborn, s econd by Brown, that Estimate No. 3 of Century Construction
Compar~r, in the amotmt of X57, 388.42, be paid.
Carried.
City Clerk Baker read the bids of several concerns that offered prices on fog
machines. The following bids were submitted:

The Tifa Todd Insecticidal Fogging Machine was purchased in preference over
the other makes because of the versatile operation atxl different uses that
the Ccxnmi.ssion felt this particular machine could be used for.
Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that the City purchase the Tifa Tood
Insecticidal Fog Applicator, from Todd Shipyard Corporation, in the
amoutYt of X1600.00, as per bid.
Carried.
Carried.
Motion by Stabs, second by Brawn, that the license of Doris Jean F~Ioe at
the Little Bamboo, be issued.
Motion by Stabs second by Broom, that the permit of Geo. ~. Haacke, be
issued.

The Cc~mission agreed unanimously to charge the X1.00 per month garbage
fee to all water customers, regardless of whether the service is taken
advantage of or not. The service is available to all customers.
Motion by Osborn, second by Bro~-n, that the City Clerk be authorized to
transfer from the General Obligation Street Construction Fund to the
General Fund, the sum of ~838,l~3, anri respective material accounts be
credited.

Motion by Osborn, second by Braun, that the City Clerk be authorized to
withdraw not to exceed the sum of ~~,000.00 from the B~,yshare Savings
& Loan Association, after conferring with Auditor.
Carried.
Motion by Stabs, second by Dunham, that the City Attorney be authorized
to draw a fire zone building ordinance to cornp7:y with minimum State Fire
Commission requirements.
Carried.
Motion by Brown, second by Osborn, that the meeting ad3ourn.
