MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING
LA PORTE CITY COPR~SSION -OCTOBER 6, 1960
7:00 P, M.
Mayor H, P, Pfeiffer called the meet~.ng to order Taith the following present:
Commissioners Osborn, Dunham and Stabs, Supt. trJ,A.Arthur, City Attorney C. L,
Pitman, City Clerk Frank G. Baker, and City Inspector Art Janssen.
Also present were Jim Holley (Press), J. 0. Rollins, Gould Crofoot~-Doug Boyle.
Minutes of the last regular and sx~ecial meetings were read and approved.
Carried.
The following sewer extension bids were opened and read aloud:
(1} 345' of 10" Sewer 8' Deep -------------------- X536.30
533'of 8" Sewer 6' Deep -------------------- 692.90
4 Prefabricated manholes ____________________ 100.00
Refinish road surface 20.00

Completion date - 2 weeks.
Submitted by Bayshore Construction Company.
(2) ti^te propose to furnish all labor and equipment to install 346'
of 10" pipe to be put in place at a depth of 8t ~h two pre-
fabricated manholes to be placed,
533' of 6" pipe to be put in place at a depth of 6'wi.th two
prefabricated manholes to be placed,
Furnish labor and equipment for repairing street crossings.
UVork to be completed in 20 working days,
For the sum of Twenty Two Hundred Dollars 02,200.00).

Motion by Osburr,, second by Stabs, that the Bayshore Construction Company be
awarded the contract to construct the sewer line to Block 165, on the basis
of low bid of X1.,349.20.
Carried.
N~.otion by Stabs, second by Osborn, that the City invest X50,000.00 (5 - X10,000
Certificates) from Interest & Sinking Fund at 3~, 6 Mo. with First State Baxik
of La Forte.
Carried.
Motion by Osburn, second by Dunham, that the following persons be appointed to
the Board of Adjus tment of the City of La Porte for the recently passed Zoning
Ordinance; Walter Roberson, Eugenie Miller, Elsie Moore, R.A.. Mc Glendon and
George Norris. A letter will be sent to each, asking that they reply in writing
if they will serve or not.
Carried.
Commissioner Stabs was authorized to proceed with cleaning the back of fire
station and put shell on same.
Motion by Stabs, second by Osburn, that. the meeting adjourn.

LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION - OCTOBER 19, 1960
7:00 P. M.
Mayor Pfeiffer called the special meeting to order with the fo7.7..otiu. ng persons
present: Commissioners Brown, Osburn and Stabs, City Clerk Frank Baker, and
James Counts, Engineer,
Mayor Pfeiffer and the Commission discussed the North side Community building
-~*ith Nrx. Counts.
Motion by Stabs, second by Osburn, that Commissioner Stabs be authorized to
pur chase a 110 Mobil Power Unit, for X125,00.
Carried.
Motion by Stabs, second by Osburn, that Block 4, Bay Front Addition, City of
La Porte, be advertised for sale.
Carried.
Motion by Brown, second by Stabs, that the meeting adjourn.
Carried.
