LA PORTE CITY COMMISSION - JULY 7, 1961
7:00 P. M,
Regular meeting of the City Commission was called to order by Mayor H. P.
Pfeiffer, with the following members present: Commissioners Dunham, Stabs,
and Osburn (Brown absent due to work), Attorney Pitman, Supt, Arthur, and
City Clerk Frank Baker,
Also present were Mrs. Brummerhop and Jim Holley (Press), Tom Brown and Mr.
Brummerhop.
Minutes of the last regular and special meetings were read and approved.
Carried.
Mr. Brown discussed the electrical requirements on 1~:ells # 2, 3 & 4. The
Commission asked Mr. Brown to get the costs and report back.
Mayor Pfeiffer asked that the bids be opened on the tractor. The following
bids were received:
Houston Poorer Equipment Co. X5,677.76
Lansdowne-Moody Co., Inc. 6,010.00
Cook Equipment Co., Inc. 6,300.00
Motion by Dunham, second by Stabs, that the bids be tabled for further consid-
eration.
Carried.
The item of sewerage connection to the City system pertaining to the Z,Jilkes
Trailer Park was brought up, and the Commis; ion agreed that ?sir. ~niilkes be
contacted by the City Attorney and try to Tao rk out an agreement with him
and have an answer before next regular meeting,
Motion 'oy Gsburn, second by Dunham, that the purchase of check valve for
well #3, be ratified.
Carried.
It T~,ras unanimously agreed that the building permit application of Grummet f
Mayes for T.E. Bolding, be referred to the Zoning Eoard for disposition.
notion by Osburn, second by Stabs, that the City Clerk be authorized to trans-
fer .?5,325.56 from the General Fund to the street construction fund.

Mayor Pfeiffer reported that he had contacted :ionorable Criss Cole, and Mr.
Cole had assured him that he would support ar~d introduce the request for
the water district providing ali information pertaining thereto be furnisred
him, and that the need for sa me is warranted.
Commissioner Stabs requested that the City Clerk clear all liquor, beer and
wine permits through the Police Chief.
Motion by Stabs, second by Ih~nham, that X700.00 for Firemen's training school
be paid to Fire Chief P.ollins.
Carried.
Motion by Osborn, second by Stabs, that the rr~eting adjo-arn.
Carried.
